From School Library Journal
Grade 4-8-Step-by-step instructions for 10 projects are clearly explained and easy to follow; colorful illustrations aid understanding. Materials required, such as 1.5 volt batteries, wire, motors, and lightbulbs, are listed with each activity and are readily available at hardware stores. Projects include making battery connections and switches, and then building gadgets such as electric dice, a noisemaker, a back scratcher, and a bumper car. The skills developed lead up to the final project, a robotic hand. Similar in format to Bartholomew's Electric Gadgets and Gizmos (Kids Can, 1998), this new title will be useful for science projects. Dimensions are given in both metric units as well as inches.
