And yet another....,
By Tim Salazar (Seattle) - See all my reviews

startling revelation from the Milwaukee boys of The Promise Ring. Quick on the heels of their great achievement/disappointment of "Very Emergency," The Promise Ring prove to you that they're a power pop band, and dammit, they're good at it. Forget about that emo-schmemo that you started out loving about these guys and just listen to how much fun they're having. Seriously, it's there, and it'll flow out of their pores into you. Sounds to me like someone got a little tired about nothing feeling good and decided that it can, provided you leave enough room for it. "Very Emergency" sounded like a transition somewhere in between "Nothing feels Good" and this EP, just warming you to what's to come, and letting you decide if you're going to let Davey woo you with his emoless pop melodies. This CD brings back the energy that you felt in "Nothing..." and merges them with the songs structures that "...Emergency" brought you. These songs are like the taste of liquor on someone's lips; it's not like drinking from the source, but the kiss is damn sweet.

What is "emo"?,
By Ryan Jones (Austin TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Electric Pink (Audio CD)
"Emo" is such a wimpy word to describe this band and record. The Promise Ring, fresh off of their last album "Very Emergency", have put out new material on "Electric Pink". Although it may not be their finest work since "Nothing Feels Good", it shows that the band is dedicated to the fans by putting out fresh songs for the band's rabid followers who have craved more since "Very Emergency". It is worth a listen for those who want to start listening to the Promise Ring, and a must have for the fans.

Cmon now really Dropkick Murphys, The Business, that is total opposite of what these guys are. Maybe if you were in your mid twenties now you would understand better kids. Stop buying sucky music with your parents credit card
