A Hit, not a miss,
By A Customer
This review is from: Electric Pocket Radio (Audio CD)
I bought this album on a whim and thought maybe it was a mistake at first, but after a few listenings, I am so glad I took the leap. This is the kind of happy-summertime music I was looking for, and I was so inspired by this, I decided to spread the word by writing this here review. enjoy!

I bought this on a whim from a used cd/record store, with only the caption "weird, melodic, electro-pop; commercial jingles for the clinically insane."
Those were the best $6 I've ever spent. The cd has addicting beats and bizarre lyrics. What an amazing upbeat cd! I would say it is like the Postal Service on methamphetamines. From children to hipsters, this cd will be appreciated.

Here is "the next big thing!",
By A Customer
This review is from: Electric Pocket Radio (Audio CD)
I am so pleased to have discovered what (or who) will be the next big thing in pop music. Electric Pocket Radio is as brilliant as it is diverse. Moses jumps seamlesly from quirky pop to sad introspective crooning to drum and bass infected Beach Boys picnics to goofy Casio keyboard anthems. This is without a doubt the best record I have heard in a long, long time. Finally, an artist with pop sensibilities who isn't scared to hit you simultaneously with something new and something familiar. Excellent.

Moses Leroy is an odd-ball genius,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Electric Pocket Radio (Audio CD)
The Incredible Moses Leroy's new album is a musical journey full of life's offerings: ups and downs. It's definitely something you have to listen to from beginning to end, and at least twice before determining if it's solid or not. Moses is all about reading between the lines, so if you're dumb, you probably will not get his point. It's Alternative POP. And, if you get the chance to catch him live, you'll be a very happy person after the show. Thank you, and good night!

Original!,

If you're looking for some awesome songs that are unlike anything you've ever heard before, look no further. This is an awesome album all around, but the song Fuzzy has got to be the best Incredible Moses Leroy has ever done. I first heard it on a TV ad for the italian motorscooter Vespa. It's so adorable!

Beep Beep I Am In Love,
By A Customer
This review is from: Electric Pocket Radio (Audio CD)
I saw the Incredible Moses Leroy play about three years ago at a small club called the Casbah in San Diego. I was positively hooked. This great thing about this new album is that while the songs can sound silly you realize that the artist doesn't take himself to seriously and that he having FUN with his music. Fuzzy is one of my favorite tracks, and if you catch a show you crack up because he plays retro slasher movies in the background of this sticky sweet song. His music is clever, uplifting and groovy. Perfect anti-road rage driving music.

It Grows On You,

Moses Leroy's "Electric Pocket Radio" may sound odd at first, but it grows on you. I like his diversity. He pulls off different styles of music marvelously. Each song is very entertaining. This album is a lot of fun to listen to.

Not quite incredible, but great none-the-less...,

Somethings pop in the most bizarre of places. I caught an add for this CD in a copy of Revolver magazine that had Slipknot on the cover(honestly, I bought it for the System Of A Down intereview. I swear). Seeing as how it looked like something that would be different from the corperate "everything" music these days, I decided to give it a try.Suprise, suprise. Its actually pretty good! Moses Leroy is sort is best described as synth-pop with sort of an artistic edge to it(like some one said, something along the lines of They Might Be Giants and Soul Coughing). The music is laid back and very easy to get into. While there isn't a whole lot of technicality that makes the latter mentioned to amazing, the overall sounds are full enough and engrossing, so its easy to overlook that. One thing I really enjoy about this CD is how it takes chances. Electric Pocket Radio tries to do variety of different genres of music(electronica, pop, synth-pop, etc.) and for the most part does a good enough job on it. Every instrument is right on the money and always complements each other perfectly. Top it off with great producing and you got yourself a pretty good album. But... Unfortunatly, lyrically, its not up to par with the rest of the album. While for the most part they range from cheesy to fun, some cross the line in to just down right annoying. My other complaint is that some of the songs are okay. Luckly there are enough gems on here that it doesn't destroy the album. One of the most creative, unique albums I have heard all year. It fills me with hope that there are still musicians who still like to extend the bounds of popular music. While Leroy doesn't break new ground, it is certainly compelling. Give it a shot. It may just be up your ally.

The CD for music fans!,

Lately I've been extremely bored with music. Do you ever look at your CD collection and feel like you've heard everything to the point that it's just not fun anymore? You NEED this CD. The songs are infectious, and wonderfully original, and their cover of "Beep Beep Love" is fantastic. If you need to breathe fresh air into your music, this CD is just what the doctor ordered. The songs go from melodic to grooving, from kitsch to rock and back. Listen to this CD and be prepared for something new, and I guarantee you won't regret buying it.
