5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific fun
I purchased these for my 9 yr old son and I had to assemble the thing. The previous reviews overstate the amount of work to glue this together. You have to glue the upper and lower deck. No big deal. You also have to put batteries in. No big deal either. The manual did not state where to put the antenna but that wasn't too hard either.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible waste of time and money
It took two builders over 1 hour to put this together. The directions were partly in Chinese. The toy did not make it past the first day!

I was so dissapointed with this purchase, there were a lot of tiny parts which had to be fit and glued together which took a lot of time, after wasting time fitting them up,on one of the boat only one side of the propeller works so it goes around in a small circle, the other boat had a faulty remote so it would move about three inches and stop, it was a waste of money.

I tried to tackle the assembly of this product but the instructions were translated from Chinese to English to Spanish back to English again. Nothing makes sense so after a couple hours of piecing it together the boats sit unfinished on step 2. Not sure instructions would even help as the pieces don't really fit together.

Be prepared! This requires quite a bit of assembly. I still haven't had the time to put these together. They seem cheaply made. You are required to put batteries in the boat and then glue the boat pieces together. Not sure how you replace batteries???? Is this a one time toy? Not very impressive. The two boats are also the same color unlike the picture with two different colored boats.

The boats run fast and are terrific fun to play with. We didn't do the push ball thing because who cares? They are a lot of fun to just run on open water.

My biggest complaint is that they let in a little too much water. We ran them in some choppy sea water and had to drain them a number of times.

These boats take alot of time and effort to get together. They are also definately only for adults to put together as there is super glue involved. After some use the boat/remote seem to not work so well. The boat propellers would automatically just start running when no one was near the remote?

1.0 out of 5 stars The Red boat never works!, July 23, 2010

After putting the boats together and finding that neither of them worked, I emailed the company. They promptly replied to me and sent out a new set of boats. We starting putting the new boats together and had the same problem, so we used spare parts from the old boat to get at least one of them working. We are going to get the other one going, but not without borrowing a sauter. We just wanted a couple of boats to race in the pool. It's hard to believe that no stores carry RC boats anymore.

The instructions are so awful you can't help but laugh. It takes a few minutes to glue parts together but nothing complicated. The boats are fast and created lots of laughter in the pool. Whether playing games with the ball or sneaking up on people, they keep you entertained. With lots of hard play, even adults couldn't make them last throughout a whole summer but for such a low price, it was worth it. If they come available again, we will get a set again for next summer.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor product, June 13, 2011

The description of the product does not state that assembly is required. Upon assembling and tring out one of the two boats I found out that the boat would not respond to the controller properly, and one of the two engines did not work (each boat has two small engines/double propellas,,,boat was tested with multiple new batteries). Have been trying to return the product for over a week and have yet to get return emails.
