Funk Gets Stronger,
By
This review is from: Electric Spanking of War Babies (Audio CD)
The last great Funk Mob album. Starting with the Pedro Bell cover--getting back to his normal greatness after the less that his stellar "Uncle Jam wants You" cover. The band calls on it's mentor Sly Stone for "Funk gets Stonger" part 2. They call on the Beatles for a reprise. "Icka Prick" is a sleeper classic with George topping himself in the obscene silliness genre. There is a reggae attempt that isnt too bad. The title track is new wave funk. Overall good fun for all involved-no "Hardcore Jollies" or "Maggot Brain" but easily ahead of the rest fo the funking masses of the time--this record signalled the decline of funk as I knew it up until this point.
