I almost bought a Toro with essentially the same features. With the promotional discount, I saved $100 and this mower is excellent. I have an acre and a half of land to maintain, and the variable-speed self-propelled controls work flawlessly. It's also great having the electric start. No more yanking on a mower cord to get it started. I can't believe I could have purchased a better mower for the money.

Overall, I probably wouldn't buy this mower again. I thought it's staggered wheels would help me with a rather tight radius I have on a small patio lawn. It didn't, so that immediately means I had other options I could've pursued.
THE GOOD... I like the color. ;) Love the power assist as I have a large lawn on a slope and sometime mow in the downhill/uphill direction. Having rear wheel drive is nice. Mower manuevers well, but the wheels came unaligned and I haven't taken the 5 minutes to fix it, so it doesn't mow as straight as I'd like. The rear bag is easy to move on/off...good clearance and doesn't leak grass out. THE BAD... Charging hasn't worked out well for me, this machine stays in my shed where I don't have electrical hookups. So, I'm a pull-start kinda guy. The battery box is pretty cheap and I gave up trying to keep the lid on there. It's full of dead grass now. I wouldn't buy another tube/bag system...this seems to clog very easily if I'm mowing in heavy grass. I have found if my grass is average to short height, this setup does get the bag completely full. Mower worked well for first 2 years but now it fouls plugs every couple months and occasionally leaks gas. The carburetor is pretty cheap on this and I can't find the parts I need locally to fix this on a Saturday afternoon. Currently having issues with the Carb Float getting stuck and the bowl overfilling...leaking lots of gas past the seal right next to the exhaust!!! I think that's the biggest issue I have...buying this off the web means I have to order parts off the web. Do your homework and buy something you can easily get parts for locally. I'll probably take it in to get serviced now that the weather is turning. Maybe I'll enjoy it more when it's working reliably.

After reviewing several mowers, I feel this make and model is best suited for a variety of users. The 4-cycle engine feature helped me make up my mind on which mower would be best for my family, we don't need to mix oil in the fuel. Also, the electric start is a good feature--for the weaker persons. |
