I have this installed in my conference room. It looks fine and works, but installation was a bit of a problem. Be sure to have better screws, the heads on the aluminum ones that are supplied will break off with the least amount of pressure. You will also need to supply the CAT-5 terminal blocks as none are supplied.

Installed for a customer. Nothing fit right. The cover doesn't fit at all. Had aluminum screws which the heads snap off easily. Receptacle isn't really screwed to the box, just floats around, which I don't think is a good idea. I just don't think the group that designed it ever tested it out themselves. Great concept but poor construction. Save yourself from a headache and buy something else.

First, I bought this because it is about the only thing I could find that combined both electrical and low-voltage data/telecom in a single floor box that wasn't going to break the bank. I wanted an outlet under my desk for my computer with ethernet and phone. Everything else seems to be for commerical use and very expensive / elaborate. Though, I think this is still pretty expensive for what you get.

The floor box is divided into two compartments to keep the high and low voltage stuff separate. The low voltage side has 4-keystone jacks which I filled with ethernet and phone. The electrical outlet is pretty nice, if not in use it has these plastic tabs that snap in to cover the holes.

I installed this into a new 3/4" hardwood floor, which was straightforward. Two issues I encountered, which could be solved with some extra parts I had lying around:

1. When installed, the keystone plate can move around underneath the plate. Though it can't come out (it's sandwiched between two metal tabs), it can slide a bit. Maybe that's by design since the plate holes don't allow enough clearance for say, overmolded ethernet cords (I used one without, that works fine). To hold it in place I used some rubber washers around the bolts which seemed to do the trick.

2. The electrical outlet wants to push out of the box because of the spring tension of the wires jammed down below. This requires the bolts really be cranked down on the plate to hold everything tight to the floor. However it comes with aluminum bolts! I twisted the heads off several before I realized this. Switching to some #6 steel flat head bolts solved that problem.

All in all, since you don't have much other selection, it does get the job done and looks pretty nice on the floor.
