Easy to read and understand. A must have study guide for anyone taking the state electrical contractor exam. Covers everything you'll need to know to pass.

I studied using this exam prep to point out my weak areas. It is more of an exam prep than a study guide, as it is mostly a bank of questions from actual exams. This book is not to train you on how to be an electrican, it is to train you on how to think like the exam so that you pass the exam. It also takes the time and care to point out the changes from the NEC 2005 to the 2008.

I passed the practice timed final exam in the back of the book with an 83, passed the actual exam with an 85. Don't think I would have passed without it.

Highly recomended.

Great prep for the master's electrical exam. Here's my secret: Find the correct answer to each question in the code book, highlight it and when test day comes there will be no surprises. Passed with a 95 first time.

My electrical license expired a few years back, so I had to re-take the state examination. I had purchased a similar book in the 90's for the 1st time that I passed the board exam, and it was essential. I knew that I needed to refresh my calculation skills and improve my test-taking speed. This book didn't help. This "guide" is practice questions ONLY, and I wouldn't call it much practice. Too many of the questions were overly simplistic and generalized.

This book will NOT prepare you for the actual exam.

After completing all the tests in this book, I installed the included testing program (FYI - Same questions as in the book), and I thought to myself, "Wow, I don't remember the real exam being this easy." I figured that I had matured over the years and that the information flowed more smoothly from my aged brain. I also entertained the possibility that MY state test was more difficult than the one the author had experienced, so I went to a very popular electrical preparation site and took the practice tests. THAT was it! That was what I remembered, and THAT was what was actually on the exam when I sat for it.

Maybe Mike Holt's book from here on Amazon will be what you are looking for. (Make sure that you get the answer key).

good for test taking and exam preparation, in depth details and accurate material will definitely be a big help when you need it

I wouldn't suggest this... at least for the Wisconsin Prep exam. My fiance just took it and lets say did not pass even close... said there was not enough information on electrical theory and will be taking a class on it.

He is an electrician of 12 years and went for the Electrican Journeyman's Exam.

It is a greta book it has a lot of informatioon it helped me pass my exam buy this thing!

The questions asked don't follow the flow of learning that I use. The order in which they're asked is not how you would normally think when you're doing electrical work. Didn't work for me, but maybe for some others it would be okay. I'd bet "okay" is about as good as a review will get on this book.
