Just go with it. If you sit around trying to figure out who did what to whom you are missing the whole point of the movie. Julia Garner brings just the right touch to her portrayal of Rachel. Rory Culkin plays Clyde, whom he described when he read the first part of the script as "kind of a dick" but he then read one particular scene and decided to take on the role. It's probably one of the sweetest without being overly sentimental scenes in the film and he does it brilliantly. I am also wondering why Tim Burton has not snapped up both Garner and Culkin for their other-century looks and subtle performances. Billy Zane delivers a quiet but edgy performance as the church leader, and Bill Sage (from We Are What We Are) is also unexpected in this quirky tale. Special mention for Liam Aiken as "Mr. Will" (last seen in "A Series of Unfortunate Events"). Visually lovely and humorous. A really wonderful first-time effort by the writer/director, Rebecca Thomas. Every time I see a red Mustang now I smile and think of this movie!

If you're looking for an outstanding unknown little moving picture show then go no farther then this gem of a movie. Directed and written by Rebecca Thomas in a wonderful debut tells the story of a beautiful 15 year old Mormon girl (Rachael) who believes she is pregnant with the Son of God. Julia Garner( as Rachael)) is captivating and remarkable as she delivers a role that has to be seen. Kudos to the rest of the cast especially Liam Aiken ( as Mr. Will.) Excellent production values. There is a two coincidences in the story that if you accept and keep moving with the story will all work out in the end. Again! You owe it to yourself to see Julia Garner in this scene stealing role.

This is the kind of movie that the world needs more of, and I thank the people who made it. When I saw BILLY ZANE as an Amish cult-leader type, I knew I was in for a treat. The raw powerful beauty of the young actress illuminates the entire film from beginning to end. Saw some Hal Hartley players. I say "sci-fi" because it partly reminds me of the little no-budget sci-fi with Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield about the kids that are raised in a cult, merely growing healthy body parts for the One Percenters of society. I saw this in the USA on NETFLIX and immediately tried to come to Amazon to buy the DVD. Don't leave me hanging ..... on the tel ..... ephone.

3 cheers to kickstarter for funding an interesting movie- Hollywood would never allow such a film to remain unmolested. The setup was facinatingly disturbing, the fact that the father/cult leader was not predictably rotten, refreshing. But...the ending...was there supposed to be information on the tape that we are not allowed to hear, or are we supposed to believe the immaculate conception story. Firmer resolution would move this a lot closer to the top tier. Great acting throughout, directed and filmed very well.
