It tracks notes beautifully too, unlike others that can be a bit sloppy catching the notes off your bass.
You will have a lot of fun with this little winner! Think of the bass sounds in the songs 'Lets Groove' by Earth Wind & Fire and 'Jive Talkin' by the Bee Gees and you'll get an idea of the type of sound it produces - that fat analogue Moogish-type synth bass effect.
Check out the Electro Harmonix website YouTube links too to get a better idea.
The one thing that would make this bass fx nirvana would be the ability to store program pre-sets - even just maybe 3 would be great, but then it would probably be bigger and cost a lot more.
I REALLY like the fact that it incorporates faders too, instead of knobs - makes adjustments easier and quicker, and you can see instantly your settings (especially on a dimly lit stage).
Construction is well thought-out and rugged - the switch feels sturdy and solid.
Were it a working unit, I think I'd have kept it. It's a cool pedal, and not much else sounds like it. It requires EXTREME nuance to get good tones—90% of the combinations of settings are going to sound like crap. Get to know the sliders, figure out what they all do to your tone, and proceed carefully.
I'm not wholly sure it's worth the price, however, as you can get a good approximation of the bass synth sound combining an octaver, a filter, and a fuzz pedal. That is, after all what this pedals is, just combined. Simply because of the number of options out there, I might suggest going this a la carte route before picking up this pedal.
The quality of Electro-Harmonix pedals is generally good. This one is of much better quality than the 2000s-era Q-Tron+ that I used to have...
It has a very wide range of sounds and tones that can be easily tweaked on the go with the slider setup. It's way faster/easier than tweaking with nobs.

...and that reason is, they're FREAKIN AMAZING! The range of sounds this pedal is capable of is unrivaled. Sure, they're spendy....but it's well worth it.Published 19 months ago by Banderhoos
It,s just what I was looking for.Almost as good as keyboard synth bass on a bass guitar.A good investment for a bass player.Published 22 months ago by William Wafer
