2 Cds worth of music, electroclash and more. No, not the definitive Electroclash set, but rather an excellent overview of the current underground electronic pop music scene. Pick up this set if you want to broaden your mind from the current dead end electroclash has become or if you find electroclash boring and simplistic. Tracks from Nukleon, Spray, Ladytron and Ganymede will refresh your exctiment in electropop...

Actually a nice variety!,

As another reviewer mentioned, not everything on here is particularly "new". Some of these bands have been around a long time, and just manage to release a multitude of CD's completely under the radar of the pop mainstream. That having been said, most people probably haven't heard of these songs yet (for the very reason that they aren't mainstream), so I guess it's new to most people.I enjoyed this compilation because of the variety in the music selection. Rather than focusing on just one side of the "nu-electro" scene like some other compilations (you know, 20 tracks with a cute drum beat, a girl talking, and synthesizers bleeping), Moonshine mixes in some of the more traditional synthpop bands as well as some "housey" tracks to show a more rounded representation of the electronic pop music currently in the "electro" scene. All they're missing is some of the explosive "futurepop" stuff that's been put out lately (like Apoptygma Berzerk, VNV Nation, Neuroticfish, Syrian, Fr/Action, etc.). I'm 100% in favor of the diversifying and evolution of synthesizer pop music and this compilation does a good job of broadening the view a bit. Good job!

I'm giving 4 stars to this CD for the only reason that MOONSHINE records took way to long to come out with a copilation of tracks that have been out there for months and for not including Miss Kittin & The Hacker. You will find tech-house, plenty of synthpop, nu-electro & a bit of high energy. I'm glad that they have included MOUNT SIMS "Dark Sunglasses" cause I love that track and Tiga's version of MADAME HOLLYWOOD by FELIX DA HOUSECAT and GUSGUS 'DESIRE'. This particular CD would have workd so lovely as MIX CD, since there is plenty of ELECTRO copilation ones out there and not many that are mix with the exeptions of TIGA'S American Gigolo & FELIX DA HOUSECAT, but, as a compilation CD is a good one and CD#2 Is my favorite, since most of the songs seem new to me and the beats are a bit faster than the first one.

I like to listen to Techno/House/Trance...whatever you want to call it at work, and I have a lot of it on my iPod and this is one of the best. A lot of the songs are actually kind of funny, like Euro Trash Girl. I like to listen to this type of music when I am computer programming, and I always love when one of these songs comes up during shuffle. BTW-I bought this while on vacation in London, so the prices I am seeing on Amazon are really low. Highly recommend. I was just looking to see if there was an Electro Nouveau II to buy, so I decided to write this review.
