I don't write a negative review lightly, nor often. However when a product claims "40" uses, then notes it depends on so many variables, I would expect to get at least 4-5 uses our of a package of electrodes. I get 2-3 uses per set of 4.

I have tried taking showers prior to usage allowing my body to completely dry. I have used Alcohol wipe prep pads to remove any oils from my skin
just prior to use assuring the skin is dry and clean. Yet, after the first use the edges start to lift up. The 3rd use a pad or two will not stick securely enough. When the pad does not adhere to the skin surface well you end up with the current arching slightly on the skin and this concentrates the charge in a small pinpoint location causing burning
and discomfort.

I even tried using the unit on my wife with a similar set of processes to ensure it was just not my body over producing skin oils or some other personal issue. Usage on my wife achieved similar results.

A previous reviewer reviewed the dual channel (twin Stem TENS unit) and noted to "toss the included electrodes they are junk" and purchase an alternate suppliers electrodes for the unit. A package of 4 of these electrodes are included with the unit. Excellent advice, however since I can't find that review, I just asked my Physical Therapist which they used and ordered several pair. Much better. So my recommendation is ask your PT which ones they use and order them instead. They are "The cheapest pads around" for a reason. Avoid unless you can afford to toss them out after one use.

I have switched to the "EZ-STIK Reusable Electrodes" and I have been on the same package of 4, used twice daily on Cervical spine and lumbar completing my third week this Sunday (two days from now.), and I suspect
it will be time to retire them and move on to a new package. But that is 42 applications which is far greater than I expected.

I am doing EMS, so my intensity levels are fairly high unlike with TENS
where the current does not require such intensity often. (Roughly, TENS is often used to re-train nerve channel paths to carry a signal), where-as EMS is muscle stimulation. My neck muscles around the Cervical spine tighten up as an over-reaction defensive action to protect the injury to the area). The EZ-STIK electrodes cost more per unit, but if it lasts 4-5 times as long, I am saving money. I use the same procedures I used with the item you are viewing now. I hope this helps some people. If in doubt, at least order one package of each and try for yourself. The EZ-Stick are sold by a few storefronts on Amazon.

These electrodes worked great on my older Dr. Ho muscle massager. We have had this since 2003 & the electrodes on Dr. Ho's website looked different, plus they were a lot more expensive. These are great & you get 20 in the package which should last forever. This is the first time we have replaced the original pads that came with the massager.

I read a lot of the negative reviews and disagree. These things aren't meant to last for months. I work at a physical therapy clinic and we replace the pads often. Though this specific item does break down quicker than some other ones, it's pretty inexpensive. If you want them to last longer, just take care of them/ Make sure the surface is clean. I use alcohol. Make sure you take them off correctly so u don't damage the wire. Lastly, make sure you store it in on the plastic page and then put it in the bag so the gel doesn't dry out. For 1 set (4 pads), probably lasted me about 2 months using it everyday before I had to switch it up.

I've had a tens unit for years and always obtained my electrode pads from my local chiropractor. I've since moved and hadn't bought any pads in a while. Thought I'd look online for a good deal. I purchased this set recently and have used 2 sets of two so far and found that they have almost ZERO reusability as they don't stick very well after the first use. The pads I used to get from my chiropractor were reusable over and over. These are NOT. I have no problem with the seller as the package arrived in a timely manner. However I would recommend NOT buying these pads as they are of very poor quality.

The adhesive on these pads is so weak and thin that they do not hold firmly and evenly resulting in a stinging sensation when the TENS is turned strong enough to do any good. I tried all the suggestions about cleaning, using alcohol to remove oils, moistening skin, etc. but the electrode pads are just poor quality. I am not a medial professional, but am a retired electronics technician, and learned a long time ago that having a firm contact over a wider area reduces the pain from an electrical pulse entering the skin, something the people manufacturing these pads never figured out.

If you are buying the stimulator... get these. You will use the pads shipped with the product in no time.

This product worked for a very short time. I use these electrodes on my lower back, middle back, and sometimes on the back sides of my hips. I've used the electrodes between 2 to 4 times and after that, it starts to peel off by itself on the edges. I had to replace them with new ones. I also had a problem with the wires coming out or loosen from the electrodes. Those of you know that when this happens, it feels like you are getting a slight electricution from the electrodes.
If you use the electrodes one or two times, they are fine. Other than that, I would suggest buying a better quality and durable electrodes.

Bought these pads with a TENS/muscle stimulator. They work great! I have been able to use 4 of the pads at least 10 times so far (I use 4 at a time). I take them off and lightly spray them with water and place them back on the plastic. Making sure you have clean skin is a must - no lotions, or it will degrade the adhesive. I have had no problems with being "burned" by the pads due to poor quality. Will by these again, when and if the others ever wear out!

These little pads are really sticky. They last probably 20 or more times before they stop working.
