I was looking for an LED digital clock and eventually decided that my best choices were with clock radios. I wanted something small, and one that didn't use either 9V or coin-type batteries for backup: this one uses two AA cells. (I wanted battery backup, so I don't have to reset it every time there is a momentary power glitch.) It is easy to operate. I have had it for just over one week. It is keeping good time (as expected). The battery backup worked fine when I unplugged it to carry it from one room to another.

I am updating this review as a result of the clock "dying" (no display, no radio) approximately two months after I started using it. The cost of shipping it, insured, to Buffalo, NY, was only slightly less than the cost of the clock (less S&H). I received my replacement yesterday. It does not work perfectly (minutes do not set as they are supposed to).

As a result of this review, I was eventually contacted by the Amazon supplier. The supplier was very good at handling my complaints and remedying the situation to my satisfaction. I now have a working model of this radio in my house, and at an acceptable out-of-pocket expense. I appreciate their concern for customer satisfaction. Evidently my experience with this product is not like that of others who have purchased it. I look forward to a long use of this clock radio.

I love this clock radio, except for one thing...I cannot figure out how to turn the alarm off. It goes on every day at the time set. I am retired and only need an alarm now and then. I emailed the company and they total me to hit the 1 or 2 button 3 times. I did this, and that didn't work either. I am hoping to hear from them again...otherwise this item gets returned. Everything else about it is wonderful, so am disappointed that the alarm turn off can't be figured out.

Update to my review: I have had many people respond to tell me how to turn this off. They were very helpful, but it is a lot of steps. I did return this item for something more simple and straight forward. I loved every feature of it, except turning the alarm totally off. And the manuals tell you nothing. Should you decide you want to buy this item, this is how to turn off the alarm.

The alarm can be turned off by holding the Alarm 1 or 2 button until the alarm time is flashing. You can then tap the Alarm 1 or 2 button to cycle between the different alarm options of Off, Buzzer, and Radio. Once on the correct option the clock will take 5 seconds to accept the setting. The red light will off, if the alarm is turned off.

This little gem does what it's supposed to- puts me to sleep with talk radio and wakes me up with a progressive beep-beep-beep that starts off soft and gets louder till I turn it off (or hit snooze).
The PLL tuner pulls in stations better than my last clock radio. The vast majority of clock radios under $20 do not have a PLL tuner.
The volume is more than adequate for me. The buttons have a good, positive feel that suggests it will last a good long time.
I've had it about 3 months.
UPDATE: I've now had this clock radio for about 18 months, it's still working perfectly.

The clock radio I had been using for over two decades finally died (a drink was spilled on top of it). I needed to find a replacement fast, preferably without spending an arm and a leg. This is the model I selected; and although I think there is a lot of room for improvement, I am happy with it overall.

What I Like:
-----------
It's electric. Plug it in and don't worry about ever changing batteries.

It has a battery backup (2 AA batteries req'd, not included). In the event power is lost, the batteries allow the unit to retain all its settings and continue functioning.

It has two separate alarms, allowing me to keep my 'primary' always set at the same time while using a 'secondary' as required. Each alarm may be independently enabled/disabled, and the type of alarm sound (beeper or radio) may be individually set on each. [Note the product description says "buzzer", but it's really a beeper.]

The display is easily readable, even with my less-than-youthful eyes.

The unit's footprint is about 1/3 that of my old clock radio. Very compact. Of course, that means the speaker is smaller too (worse sound quality), but big deal. It's an alarm clock, not a home entertainment system.

It has the ability to adjust the display brightness (although limited in its options).

Digital radio tuner.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
-----------------
NO INSTRUCTION MANUAL!!!!! What you get in the box is a clock radio and a "Quick-Start Guide", which does not cover everything you need to know about the unit. For example, the Quick-Start Guide tells you how to set your alarm when you first take it out of the box, but it does _NOT_ tell you how to stop the alarm once it goes off, or how to disable it after it is set.

Before I bought this item, I wanted to know if I could easily turn off the alarm for the weekend without resetting it, so I contacted the company. They said I could, so I bought it. Unfortunately the instructions didn't tell how to do it, but I figured out that I just needed to go one more click when choosing the alarm type (buzzer or music or none), and it turns off. I love that the clock numbers can be dimmed to very low. The lowest volume is a little loud for me to wake up to, so I wish there was one more level between 0 and 1. Otherwise, it's perfect.
