Customer Reviews

Great power and suction.
fayebaby
What little bit of dirt it does pick up goes everywhere when you remove the canister to empty it.
Frustrated consumer
The power cord is too short, I can barely move from room to room without unplugging it.

Electrolux was a vacuum cleaner that many eons ago was sold only door to door by specialty salespeople. I have owned a Electrolux canister for more than half a century and am thrilled with this new bagless canister. It has a 26 foot electric cord so many areas can be reached without plugging and unplugging. It is quiet, has big wheels so that it rolls perfectly and numerous attachments for every type of floor or upholstered furniture (including a special pet hair removal attachment. I have three cats and it has done a remarkable job of cleaning pesky cat hairs off my furniture, the cats' climbing condo, as well as my bare wood and tile floors. The crevice tool is very useful for getting into corners. The vacuum weights just a bit more than 8-lbs. so it is easy to move from floor to floor. The baggless canister was very easy to open and the cord rewinds itself at the push of a button. I prefer canister vacuums and highly recommend this model.

I was excited to have this vacuum. The name Electrolux sounds very familiar and the design on picture looks very futuristic. I had so many vacs before and this came in one of the smallest boxes to date. This vac is small and light, but it has so many attachments that come with it (but should have included a bag to store them all after using it). One attachment looks unique, a flat tool that is designed to go beneath furniture. The concept is great, but it feels like a toy and there is little suction through it. There is a long telescopic tube so you can reach farther if needs be. The floor carpet tool is equipped with a rotating brush, but there is no electric power attached to it and it works only utilizing the vac's wind power.

I love the retractable power cable and I think all vacs should have this feature. Two of my Panasonic canister vacs come with it. This is a bag less vac, the big advantage is you don't have to spend more for bags or wait until the new bags come when you ran out. It is very easy to remove the canister and empty it in the trash. Navigating the floor is easy with its lightweight and big wheels. It is convenient to bring into the garage to clean cars with a very convenient handle on top.

Overall, the vac looks great and I think it is perfect for small places like dorms or a studio. For a whole house cleaning, it is underpowered for the task. The suction is not powerful enough to do a great job. Convenience? Yes. Performance? Not very impressed.

This is the 5th Electrolux vacuum cleaner I've owned, and the only one I really don't like.

The other 4 units I have had are all bag cleaners. I was really excited to get an Electrolux that was bagless. The other bagless cleaner (Hoover Zen) I have is awful, so I didn't have very high hopes for this one.

In a nutshell, this vacuum cleaner doesn't have much suction power. I tried all of the different attachments, thinking that maybe one would be better than the others, but none of them were particularly strong. In fact, the suction was so weak I thought that maybe I had put the unit together incorrectly. This would have been very difficult to do as it is very simple to assemble.

Although it is much smaller than the Electrolux Green, it is much heavier. The hose and attachments, however, are significantly lighter and less substantial.

This vacuum cleaner, unlike the Electrolux Green, isn't good on hard floors and it's not good on carpets, either.

And the cord is only 16.5 feet! The cord on my Green is 21 feet and the cord on my other Electrolux is 25. I think 16.5 feet is too short.

In short, I'm a HUGE Electrolux fan, but this vacuum just isn't up to par with the rest of the units I've owned. I think Electrolux needs to go back to the drawing board when it comes to bagless units.

First impresssions: looks cute and bright. There are a bunch of attachments which seem daunting at first but there's not much assembly needed apart from attaching the main hose and whatever attachment you want: crevice tool, round dust brush (curtains, lightweight fabric, blinds, bookshelves, etc.), bare floor brush, hand turbo (upholstery, chairs, durable fabrics), turbo nozzle (for carpet, fluff, pet hair), low profile (for bare floors, low pile carpet, area rugs).

It's small and light. Good.

There does seem to be a lot of suction power. However, the turbo brush attachment does not seem as powerful as those on upright vacuums. For stairs, you'd probably use the smaller turbo brush. (A commenter says not to push too hard on the turbo. However, it doesn't seem to pick up some stuff if you don't. Which is the correct technique?)

There is a strong, plasticky smell when in use. You might find this annoying. Don't know if this is normal. One star off for that.

It's got a thermal guard, which powers it off if overheating (in case of blockage, full dust canister, etc.). If this happens, remedy the situation and wait 30 minutes before resuming use. To prevent this, the dust container should be emptied when it reaches the "max fill" line. There is also an indicator which changes to red when emptying is needed. The dust container should be checked periodically for obstructions.

Emptying the container was not as easy as expected. I pressed the clip at the bottom and ... nothing happened. I tried to pry it open. Not much success. I may be doing something wrong, but five minutes later, it's still closed. It shouldn't be this hard!

UPDATE: got it open, with some force. The next time it opened without any problem.
