I just purchased this vacuum after much research to replace my 13 year old vacuum that finally bit the dust. Overall I am very satisfied with it's performance. Since I was very used to my previous vacuum, albeit very old, I used this new vacuum with an eye of scrutiny.
Pros:
Love that it is bag-less and you can see exactly what and how much it picks up. Feels very sturdy though not overly heavy. I have both hard floors and carpet. Love the large hard floor attachment, I can cover the floor much faster and despite its size is still very maneuverable in tight spots. The carpet brush picks up excellent yet thin enough to get under beds and most furniture and still very maneuverable. Canister is very easy to dump out contents.
Cons:
The cord could have been a little longer compared to my old vacuum. I have to use a couple different outlets in order to reach all the surface areas. While I do love the size of the hard floor attachment, the suction is not as great and I will have to go over stuff it won't pick up the first time several times for it to pick up. I've noticed the crevice tool stored in the handle tends to fall out while I am vacuuming. My biggest beef is with storing it. To wrap up the hose and hold it together with the attached bungee cord is a joke. My previous vacuum stored all its attachments on the canister for easy access when vacuuming and storage. Not so with this one. There is no place to store the hard floor attachment or the furniture nozzle attachment. The bungee cord does not hold any of it down. After taking several minutes trying to wrap it all together, I picked it up and it all came undone. So despite Electrolux's recommended storage solution, I end up just leaving the hose attached to the wand and the carpet brush. Then just putting the other 2 attachments on the floor next to it in the closet. Not crazy about this but for it's overall excellent performance I can live with it.
2 Months Later update:
Now that the excited newness of the vacuum has worn off, I am pretty frustrated with the lack of suction with the hard floor attachment. Please note that I empty the canister after each use. My kids tracked in a bunch of tiny pebbles and small bits of dried mud that the vacuum won't pick up unless I detach the whole telescoping wand and suck them up individually with the handle itself. All the hard floor attachment does it push around anything that is heavier than dust bunnies. I also am having a problem with the attachments that are stored in the handle constantly falling out while I am vacuuming. I am seriously considering returning this because my entire downstairs is hard floor and this vacuum only works great on carpet. I love it's performance cleaning the carpet.
