Combining a slim, elegant design with powerful performance, this indoor air purifier can accommodate rooms up to 326 square feet, offering a CADR of 210 for smoke, 212 for dust, and 229 for pollen. The unit features three cleaning stages to ensure healthier indoor air. The first stage, carbon filtration, traps large particles, dust, hair, and lint, as well as reduces odors caused by cigarette smoke, cooking, and chemical vapors. The second stage, True HEPA filtration, captures 99.97-percent of airborne pollutants as small as 0.3 microns (300 times smaller that the diameter of human hair), including smoke, dust, and pet dander, and removes them from the air. The third and final stage uses PlasmaWave Technology, which generates both positive and negative ions to create plasma clusters that instantly neutralize viruses, bacteria, chemical vapors, and odors in the air, similar to the way nature cleans the air near a waterfall or just after a thunderstorm.
In addition, the air cleaner provides four fan speeds that ensure efficient operation and can be adjusted automatically or manually. Choose between Sleep mode, which allows for turning the fan down at nighttime, or Auto mode, where sensors automatically monitor odor levels and adjust the fan accordingly. Other highlights include Energy Star certification (uses about the same amount of energy as a 7-watt nightlight light bulb), a filter indicator light that illuminates when the filter needs to be changed, and a remote control with a convenient cradle located on the unit. The air cleaner measures 8-1/2 by 16-2/5 by 21-4/5 inches and carries a two-year limited warranty.

Great Hepa Filtration unit,

I bought this due to my allergies. I run it on turbo when im not at home and med in the room I sleep in. I fully intend on getting another one for the downstairs. It has an odor sensor and remote control. I can tell a difference in the air quality and I have to dust less. The 3 types of filters are prefilter, true hepa filter and plasmawave technology which means it kills bacteria and viruses with an electromagnetic field. I was happy to get such a nice volume filtration unit at a low price. It is light and fairly slim and really pumps the air through.

Shhh...I've got a secret!,

This air purifier is very nice. it really moves the air on turbo. It does make a little "crackling/hissing" noise coming from the Plasma generator but nothing overwhelming.
Now for the, Shhh....secret If you do a little research, you'll notice the Electrolux and Winix both use "PlasmaWave" Technology (same company...maybe) That being said, The Winix 5000 filter cartridges fit this purifier perfectly because they use the same body. The only difference is that the Electrolux does not have a dust sensor. So, you can find the replacement cartridges for pretty cheap on auction sites. When you put the 2 together, you get a $400 air purifier for under $150!!!!! (minus the dust sensor) Make sure the cartrige is for the Winix 5000. NOT the 5000s or 5000b. those will not fit, they are too small. Hope this helps!

One word describes this product: Outstanding. We have it setup in a rec room in our finished basement. We seldom have windows open and during the summer months have to run a dehumidifier. Consequently, we get a lingering "stale air" smell. This unit runs whisper quiet and adjusts its speed automatically. Often, we turn it off over night and just let it run during the day and evening hours. It's been one of those, "what's not to like" purchases.
