We bought a house that already had this cooktop. It is very nice looking - sleek and modern. Obviously you have to buy different pots and pans to utilize half of the stove. The stove broke before could buy the new kitchenware. The plastic edge around the surface of the panel collects lot of dirt and grime. The cooktop itself is a lot of work o keep clean. Any food that touches the glass requires delicate cleaning. Despite being only 4 years old the cooktop stopped working, showing an error code. The repair is going to cost just under $300 to fix. The tech support said there is a high likelihood another error code will appear. The second error code will cost at least $400 to repair. I will there are just too many computerized relays and functions. I have read other reviews sharing of similar experiences.

I purchased this hybrid so that I would be able to continue to use my regular cooking utensils and new utensils for the induction coils. I was very impressed with both sections of the cook top. After having gained experience with the induction section I would recommend that people have no fear of going to induction cooking only. I was very satisfied with the induction cooking and highly encourage anyone to replace their electric or gas cook tops with an induction unit.

On the down side, it is a little hard to keep clean. Using their cleaner in small sections at a time works best. When streaks' that remain are hard to remove, I found a damp sponge followed by a clean dry towel makes it easy to polish.

The black top is sleek and the induction side of this hybrid is fast. You are buying two burners only because the conventional side has a fan to cool the elements that will drive you mad. It is really loud and remains running for longer than it takes you to cook ! You cannot eat in the same room as the cook top. Did I mention that yesterday the whole control panel lit up with error signs and we now have NO COOKTOP !
Who ever heard of a two year old range dying? Err, see the other review(s) on this product.

I purchased this unit as a floor demo from Best Buy at $360 in 2012.
It was an early model manufactured 2008.
It was installed and working fine for 1 year.
The other day it displayed error code 32 and refused to function.
A call to Electrolux informed me it was low voltage on relay board, the board is $166.
Upon disassemble I found 2 inferior manufacture capacitors bulging at the top.
Ordered 4 Panasonic long life capacitors for $2 and replaced the defective.
Same error code appeared, so I inspected the $470 filter board and found 2 of the same capacitors this time 1 had leaked electrolyte out of the top.
Replaced those 2 capacitors and reassembled.
Error code gone, the unit works as before.
Be aware these early units have inferior capacitors, be prepared to spend lots of money for new boards.

1 1/2 years after repairing the 2 boards the cook top work wonderfully and is used many times a day.
One can not but wonder how many potential customers Electrolux lost due to a few inferior components in this otherwise great cook top.
Hopefully they have learned from the mistake and do longer testing before product releases.
