I embrace the principle that bags is bags. Now, when they are priced so attractively and the Electrolux people have been warning you since day 1 that use of anything other than "authorized" bags will surely bring about the end of all existence, one's faith in the rational gets tested.

So I can't claim that these bags have staved off Armageddon. But I can say that the one bag, randomly chosen from the shipment of many, has, to date, managed to contain the sucked up schmutz in a manner consistent with the operation of "authorized" bags over the years.

I will say (even though this is a review of bags, not the vacuum) that my wife's contention, about 20 years ago, that buying an Electrolux would end the constant replacement of lesser machines, was correct. I have to admit: I was a doubter. She was right; I was wrong (about this).

The provider of these bags, who's name has now been all but forgotten by me, got them to us likedy-split. We were on our last bag (bad planning on our part) and they saved us from a household cleaning disaster. It used to be that we had to order these authorized bags from a real, live Electrolux salesman who would deliver the bags and want to clean our carpets, drapes, cars, cats, whatever with the newest, non-crap but unwanted cleaning miracle he was selling. This shtick, I can do without.

According to my wife, who is the expert on this, these bags are not as good as the "official" Electrolux bags which she has bought in the past. The upside is that they are much cheaper than the official bags. What she has had to do is discard the bags much more frequently. I didn't realize when I placed the order that these were not the same quality bags as sold directly by Electrolux.

This transaction was less than satisfactory. The shipping charge, which was either never mentioned or overlooked, was more than the product and was patently outrageous. The product itself lacks the shutter type closure found on better bags and instead substitutes a terrible arrangement of a taped-on, multi-folded, hard-to-use, even harder to get into the vacuum, device. I won't buy these again.
