5.0 out of 5 stars Stop looking, this is it
Short and sweet, this is the best vacuum I have ever used. This vacuum sucks so hard (thats a good thing), you can actually feel it pulling the carpet up as it goes.

The vibragroomer II brushroll vibrates every speck of dirt out of the carpet. All the moving parts are metal and steel with sealed bearings. This thing is made for some maid in a motel to vacuum 8...

1.0 out of 5 stars Down and Out in Under 30
I bought this vacuum because it is a commercial unit. We have a dozen or so area rugs that are vacuumed once per week. While using the vacuum yesterday I begin to smell something burning inside the unit and it began to leak out what it had collected when the unit was turned off. This vacuum is of course under warrenty, but I have to go to the trouble of shipping it...

This thing is made for some maid in a motel to vacuum 8 hours a day. It should last you pretty much forever. The bag costs $1 and can hold months worth of stuff. A new belt costs $1 and should last 6 months to a year. With a 50' power cord, you can do the whole house at once.

Ive owned expensive, bagless, dual V, pretty to look at, vacuum's that are very colorfull and exciting in presentation, but just dont last. They are all plastic with weak motors, and fall apart and cower in fear at the sight of my dog, cat and wife hair. This vacuum has a commercial motor, and is designed to easily dissaseble in seconds for easy cleaning (i pull out brushroll and remove hair every few uses). When parts do wear out, they are readily available. I expect to buy a new $35 brushroll and a new $20 fan every 3-5 years. Other then that, this machine will last 20 years.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rated 4-Stars! Very Good Upright!, January 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Today, I placed another Review for 'PicnicWorld' the vendor who shipped this Commercial Sanitaire upright.
* Our Rating is based on the fact that this particular model from Sanitaire, is for CARPET Floors Only! It doesn't perform very well on HARD WOOD FLOORS or on TILE Flooring. And I would say that's the ONLY reason it received only 4-Stars from us. But, I also have to say that it performs as well as our Oreck XL, except that unlike the Oreck, it doesn't clean Wood or tile flooring. It's Excellent on Carpet!
However, we have 'mixed Media', when it comes to flooring, with carpet, tile, marble & wood flooring!
* One other thing to note, which is a plus is that this particular model,
the SC888G Commercial, is for People that have Allergies and it uses a
very IMPRESSIVE thick Allergy special bag(s).
* I agree mostly with the Manufactures Description & the other Reviewers.
* It did arrive well-packed by the vendor & it was a snap to put together,
with very good visual instructions.
* We also have an 'in-house' Policy, to ALWAYS keep all packing for all of the merchandise that is ordered on-line, for a Minimum of 6-months, just in case something goes wrong.
* For Carpet Flooring - we Highly Recommend this Sanitaire Commercial Upright!

This is a very well built vacuum and you may notice that hotels, schools and other commercial businesses use them. You can pick up most anything without hurting the unit and it has a really long cord so you can do a huge area without changing outlets.

Wife loves it, usually change the belt almost as often as the bag but the bags hold a ton.

Never seen anything clean the carpet so well, for which it is designed.

simple with no frills and works as advertised, note: not meant for bare floors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vacuum, October 30, 2007

Easy to assemble. Lightweight, quiet. A solid value and performance from a model and type of vacuum less common to the market these days. Cheers to Old School equipment!

1.0 out of 5 stars Heavy Weight, Non-existent Ergonomics--The Beast From Hell, November 28, 2011
This review is from: Electrolux Sanitaire Heavy-Duty Commercial Upright Vacuum, 17.5lbs, Chrome/Red (Kitchen)
Simply put, this is the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever used--and I've used a lot of different models over the years. The weight, I can deal with--I'm a big guy, but the designer of this vac has never heard of the word "ergonomics". The switch is down on the side, out of easy reach of either of your hands, and the foot release is clunky, to say the least. And the cord has already frayed to the danger point in under a year. So, that makes a good excuse to leave it out for the garbage collector. . .

2.0 out of 5 stars Vacuum or work out?, January 6, 2009

This review is from: Electrolux Sanitaire Heavy-Duty Commercial Upright Vacuum, 17.5lbs, Chrome/Red (Kitchen)
This vacuum cleans very well. However, after wrestling the machine around my living room for 15 minutes, I was exhausted! I suppose if you're thinking of getting your daily workout in while you do housework...this is the vacuum for you. Also...the handle cover immediately slips off when you pull the vacuum back. This makes it even more difficult to use.
