An ugly book about electromagnetic transients,
This review is from: Electromagnetic Transients in Power Systems (High-Voltage Power Transmission, 1) (High-Voltage Power Transmission Series) (Hardcover)
This book covers many topics on electrical transients in power systems in a nice compact package. It is not as verbose as Greenwood's book, but has many other examples and application formulas. It also mentions numerous, recent technical reports which the reader can refer to if he wishes to further investigate on a topic.
With that said, it is also one of the ugliest books ever published in technical literature. This book looks worse than if it had been typed in a common word processor (which it probably was). It lacks proper illustrations, formulas do not use an italic or slanted style, it uses 1.5 line spacing, and overall the layout looks rather poor. If you want a cheap book on electromagnetic transients, to see if it has something you don't already know, and you don't expect it to win a beauty contest you might try this one. |
