Flawless Example of DJ-ing Geneious !!!,

This review is from: Electronic Architecture (Audio CD)
Solarstone has really delivered a beautifully crafted compilation that will take you back to the early productions of Sasha & Digweed, Oakenfold, and Nick Warren. This is definitely a compilation to experience from beginning to end. Each track seamlessly flows into the next and the selection of tracks from beginning to end evolves with energy, range, and layers. Great selections of progressive, vocal, and trance weave a journey through electronica. This compilation is rightly titled "Electronic Architecture." It is richly based in the foundations of true electronica and the DJs who shape and craft it. This has quickly become one of my top 10 all time favorite compilations. I can not get sick of it!!! When I first listened to it I liked it. However, it didn't grab my soul until I listend to both discs on a roadtrip. That was a drive I'll never forget! I highly recommend Solarstone's Electronic Architecture to anyone who is a trance/progressive/elctronica music lover. Especially for those of you who've followed the scene for the past 15 years. The compilation is one of the best if not THE best Solarstone has ever released.

Solarstone revisits the progressive dance music blueprint with the release of the first chapter in this new compilation series. This double disc set delivers the the definitive picture of Solarstone, the DJ. 26 tracks. This uber cool house/techie producer collaborate and delivers the goods...Deep lush chords, housey grooves and general goodness as you'd expect. This cd is awesome tech - trance with big thumpers and monstrous melodic anthems. Bleepy, stompy, euphoric music that harks back to the days when Sasha and Digweed dominated the turntables....Buy it!!!

One of the best ever, if you like smooth, diverse melodic trance.,

I've been an electronica fan for ten years, partial to trance. This is easily one of the best mixes I've heard, possibly the best. It's my first solarstone cd. I only checked it out because I've always loved the classic Solarstone track "Seven Cities."Don't miss this one!

This mix is amazing both in terms of its track selection and the overall quality of mixing. Unlike a lot of other mixed compilations I've heard this one truly flows from one track into the next. I find this melodic wonder to be an excellent accompaniment for doing everything from long drives in the car to short walks outside. It also strikes a good balance between being light & uplifting and being somewhat on the more contemplative side.Above all, the mix is very - for lack of a better descriptive mechanism - consistent. Perhaps it's Rich's mixing skills, or perhaps his selection of tracks here is just really good, but the tracks not only flow from one to the next, but really feel as if they are part of one set of similarly-themed music. Even just for that reason alone this would be one of my favorite mixes. I also find it interesting that so many of the contributors to this mix are names I haven't heard of before. I will especially be on the lookout for stuff by Filigro (who contributed the song "Questinia" to this mix - it being my particular favorite of the songs featured here). All and all, this is an excellent mix and if you like other compilations the likes of Above & Beyond's Anjunadeep series, this seems like it'd be right up your alley. And if, like me, you enjoy how well-mixed and progressive the discs seem to be, you might consider checking out the CD Involver by [DJ] Sasha. I feel it is similarly thematic. Not to say its theme is similar, but the whole mix tends to flow about as well as this one does.

Totally Blown Away,

Wow...Just wow...To be totally honest I was never a fan of Solarstone. I purchased Destinations V1 and wasn't all that impressed with it, so I never really gave much of his stuff a listen. I've heard of Electronic Architecture before but it took me until recently to give it a listen. I am absolutely completely blown away at the artistic form Solarstone displays in this mix. Not only are the tracks flat out amazing, but the way he mixes them is incredible, and to me, shows a talent that is far above most other DJ's out there. I know this album is available via MP3 download with the full versions of the songs only. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this! The tracks are awesome, but to get the real genius out of the album, you HAVE to get the continuous mix. The other thing I should note is that there are very few vocals in this compilation, so if that's what you're looking for, you might want to look elsewhere. But I'm telling you, if you do take a chance on this album it will pay off for you. Man, I sound like a fanboy but I promise you I'm not, the album is just that good. I definitely have a new favorite album...Looking forward to trying Electronic Architecture 2 =)

PERFECT. This is one of the most beautiful albums I have heard in a long time. The transitions and the rythims are flawless, it has a very happy architectural transition ambient feeling, you won't regret it, it is really really amazing and I am not even in a good mood today!!
