It pains me to give this game a three star review, but the permissions and EA's spying practices (see Origin) are a deadly combo

This is the absolutely best (and the only official) Tetris game on the Android. I won't go into too much detail on what this is or how it's played, because (most likely) everyone has already played it, or some variation of this amazing puzzler.
The Good:
- The touch controls are simply flawless, and I have not experienced any problems that other reviewers have reported about them. I only went up to level 12, but even at that speed everything responded fine. You have plenty of time to change the orientation of the Tetrimino even AFTER it falls.
- "Magic" mode puts a great spin on the classic Tetris by giving you set level line clear goals and throwing in a ton of cool power ups into the mix.
- There are Statistics to help you keep tracks of your lines and high scores in both modes (Marathon and Magic).
- Multiple languages are supported. English, French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish. Not that there is a lot of writing here, but at least you will be able to go through the extensive options and help file in the language of your choice.
- The Help menu explains pretty much all the Tetris basics, as well as new features exclusive to this game.
- It's the classic Tetris I grew up on (with a few twists).
- The music is fairly pleasant, mostly remixes of original and classic tunes, with a lot of new ones thrown in for good measure. Purists will hate this, I think it's a good change.
- Graphics are outstanding. The blocks are big and bright, and the backgrounds are cool and bubbly (you can disable these bubbles should you want to in the options menu).
- It does NOT have to be connected via WiFi or 3/4G to be played. I tried it on a tablet and two phones in airplane mode.... Read more ›

You have to make up your mind on this game according to your personal preferences. If you like Tetris then this game is a 4 or 5 star rating. If you value privacy and don't like intrusive games then this game is a 1 or a 2 star rating.
This is one of the most popular games in the world and it has been around for a long time. The game play with a touch screen is good but there can be some issues. The controls of the game are pretty good but on the Kindle Fire they can be too sensitive. You line up a piece on the board perfectly and a slight brush of your finger suddenly spins it clockwise and places it into a difficult position that can ruin your chances of winning. That being said it is still fun to play and I particularly liked the Magic Mode with the tools coming up along the side of the game. Who doesn't like popping bubble wrap Tetris blocks or using a crayon to design the piece you need to clear rows.
The game is fun and easy to learn, especially with all of the help screens supplied that let you learn the moves and controls. The game play and graphics on the Kindle Fire were smooth and the game looked good. I had to turn down the volume as the background music got on my nerves quickly.
Now comes the enigma of the game. Like most popular games in the world it is loaded with permissions. Many people will say that the developer just wants to register the product to your device but the EULA (End User License Agreement) is not included for us to read. The standard EULA clearly states that you agree that they may collect, use, store and transmit your data, technical information that identifies your device, and operating system. Once upon a time I gleefully sank quarters into the arcade Tetris. I played it on the Mac under System 6.5. I owned the Nintendo Cartridge, Gameboy, Game Boy Advance versions.
This one is okay, but without even an allusion to the classic music, it doesn't feel like anything more than a hollow knock-off. And those are numerous and free to begin with.
I might play this game once in a blue moon, but it won't be on my the first 3 pages of my phone's display. Kind of like having built in Solitaire in Windows. If I had my old phone - it would probably be nuked for storage reasons, but luckily, I don't have to worry about it.
