Entertaining for adults to brush up with words and a very good vocabulary training for my 7 year old grandson.

I gave this as a Christmas gift to someone who really likes regular Boggle but had tried the electronic version and didn't like it. I think there was a little apprehension at first, but it was a hit. It's not really Boggle, more of an anagrams game that counts the words for you. It was in use most of the afternoon and evening on Christmas day: someone would get hooked for quite a while. When it was put down, it immediately got picked up by someone else.

He will be 8 soon and has been having a great time with this since Christmas. Sometimes he does it by himself, sometimes we play together. I like playing it alone too. I do wish there was an option for more time in the game where you see how many words you can make with the tiles. My son gets frustrated with this variation but I think it is the best way for him to "find" new words. A great waiting room/restaurant/travel game also due to its' portability.

The packaging is beyond excessive. There was more plastic in the package than the actual toy. If the package was as small as the storage case, about 80% more items would fit in the same size shipping crate, which would help lower the cost, and allow this item to fit on the shelves of more stores. There's no reason to waste this much plastic (or any material) to package a toy. That's the only disappointment for me with this item.

This seems almost identical to the "Scrabble" version. For some reason the colors of the one we got are different than pictured. It is fun to rearrange the chunky tiles, and they seem durable. Our only complaint is that obscure words pop up frequently, for instance "wist" ? Seems archaic...

I, as an adult, purchased one of these for myself, and enjoyed it so much that I have purchased several over time for nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. It can be played alone or as a game with others. It is, in my opinion, similar to Scrabble flash. I cannot comment on the ease of purchasing new batteries when, or if, the time comes, because I purchased mine about 2 years ago and it still works. In this age of handheld games etc., I think this is a good item to try to get kids, away from them once in a while. It comes with a convenient carrying case to store the pieces in. For some reason, this and Scrabble flash, are becoming harder to find at a reasonable price any more.
