Product Description

One of the single greatest gifts (and curses) to anyone who is a little anal retentive is bubble wrap. Sure it's good for protecting packages, but the real joy is popping each and every bubble. You can't let even one survive or your mission as bubble popper has failed. But what happens when you desire the joy of popping bubble wrap but don't have the time to invest in popping a full 60' roll? Welcome to the future, my friends; electronic bubble wrap is here. Each keychain device has 8 rubbery little "bubble" buttons. They have a pretty close tactile feel to actual bubble wrap. Guess what happens when you push one? That's right, you hear a little pop. In a nutshell, that is the simple beauty of the electronic bubble wrap keychain. But there is one bonus, and here's where the OCD can kick in a little. Every 100th "pop" is not a pop at all, but a silly sound: a boing, a bark, a rude noise, etc. And since you can easily pop (pun intended) the keychain in your pocket, you'll always have bubble wrap when you need it most (you know, like when your boss starts talking. Dimensions: 1.75" x 1.5" x 0.5"

I loved the idea of this keychain, and was curious enough to order one. It's ok. The feel of the rubber "bubble" buttons is decent, but the sound is completely wrong. It sounds sort of like "err-eee pa", with the "err-eee" sounding much more like a squeaky bed spring than what I am guessing is supposed to be sound of stretching plastic before the pop. The "pa" is fairly subtle, and in my opinion would be a much better sound on it's own, although it lacks that great snapping pop you get from bubble wrap. Also, the description states that the silly sound occurs every 100th pop, however it occurs every 10 to 15 pops. I find this to be far too often. Also, there is a delay after the silly sound plays before it goes back to the normal sound, and I find this breaks my rhythm of popping. If it only played the silly sound every 100th pop as advertised, I wouldn't be as bothered by this.

*Update: there is apparently a Version 1 and a Version 2 of this item. Version 1 has a popping noise, with a silly noise on the 100th pop, as described in the product description. I was sent Version 2, which has the squeaky noise.

It pains me to 2 star an item I had very little expectations for but just know whatever expectations you have yourself....this product will fall short.

It does not feel like bubbles. It does not sound like bubble. Not by any stretch of the imagination. I believe the idea was cute and they likely had envisioned a higher quality model that works but somewhere in the development process they went for lowest possible piece of junk available to get highest possible profits from the very few amount of people who'd buy such a silly device.

I've wasted money on many things without feeling remorse. But this item is so bad that it will give you the feeling that you waved cash out into the air and threw it in the highway where you cant even experience the joy of seeing someone else catch it as you wouldve in the park. It gives the sensational feeling of utter complete wastefulness.

I didnt give it one star because I knew itll be junk before I purchased it. But I couldve given 5 stars to junk that I expected to be junk. This fell short of even my most glim expectations of the word junk

It sort of feels like popping bubble wrap, except there is no satisfying feeling of the actual compression to the point of failure. Each electronically reproduced 'pop' is loud and fake. My husband got this for me as an alternative to my pen-clicking when watching TV. The noise was worse than the clicking of the pen.

By the time I'd accumulated 100 clicks, I'd forgotten about the random noise and would find it startling.

The keychain does not seem like it would last long with real keys.

If you want this to make a mechanically controlled, tech-sounding click to imitate the sound of a hand-held click counter, this is fine. If you want to feel the joy of accomplishment by being rewarded by a weird noise after 99 clicks, this will be lovely for your needs.

If you use this in the wrong situation, it sounds like the ticking of a bomb. Not recommended for use on airplanes or crowded areas.

I was very disappointed! I would give it zero stars but that isn't listed. I love Think Geek so I thought this would be fun for my husband.

First of all the packaging was all in a foreign language ( Chinese or Japanese) and I can't read it. Secondly, it makes no noise when buttons are pushed. Does it need batteries? How would I know! I can't read the directions!!!
Finally, I have never written a negative review, but you asked for it!
M Thornton.

The reason for this keychain was to annoy a coworker who HATES bubble wrap being popped. Mission accomplished but just doesnt sound like what its meant to be. I would recommend it anyway if your the type of person who likes to make annoying sounds.

Nothing really fantastic, but it's a cute cheap stocking stuffer. It doesn't take long to get bored with it, but I didn't expect it to.

Piece of junk. Doesn't sound anything like popping bubbles. Half the buttons didn't work. Don't waste your money or time. Sent right back. Wouldn't give it any stars, but have to give one star at least in order to submit review.
