5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive AND simple!, March 22, 2001

This review is from: Electronic Commerce, Third Edition (Charles River Media Networking Series) (Paperback)
When I brought this book home, I'd hoped it would tell me a few things about the dangers of buying and trading on line. I'd also hoped I could learn a few things about on-line marketing and selling. This book delivered both, and there were many hundreds of pages left over with information that is easy to read, easy to understand (not usually the case with books of this genre), and at times, captivating. I was surprised to find several sections detailing the structure behind such businesses as Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com, e-bay, and several more. Over and over again I felt my eyebrows popping up in response to revelations about topics I hadn't even conceived of yet. I consider myself somewhat of an internet "veteran." Working as a software developer and trainer since 1987, I've seen the internet bloom from a few private sites into the electric juggernaut it is today. If you're seeking some answers to help you get your arms around what's out there, what's on the horizon, what's possible, and what can really "scare you" about electronic commerce, this book is a must have!
