Customer Reviews

The jumper cables really save time when building projects with the Arduino.
Ed Hudson
What surprised me is that it said I was supposed to get this May 28th and instead got it the 3rd; very happy for that.
Jerrod Mertz
The wires alone will save the enthusiast a lot of time from doing it themselves.

Everything seems to be working. The breadboard works fine for small projects. The jumper cables are flexible and work, but quality varies. There is no documentation included with the parts. However, I found this part listing on the NKC Electronics website :

Qty Part
1 Small breadboard (white, blue, red, green or black)
1 Light-dependent resistor (LDR)
1 Tactile switch
1 5mm Red LED
1 5mm Green LED
1 5mm Yellow LED
1 5mm Blue LED (transparent)
1 10K resistor
2 1K resistor
4 220ohm or 330ohm resistor (for LEDs)
1 IRF520 MOSFET transistor
1 1N4007 or 1N4004 diode
1 70-pcs jumper wire pack

The kit is exactly as advertised. Parts are durable enough to be used for real Arduino "builds" and not just these initial learning projects. The book is simply not needed as the Arduino website(s), which are many and spread all over the internet, have all the pictures and project descriptions in much better detail than in the book.

Regarding previous reviews... While the item title may be misleading if you're dyslexic, (and I'm not putting down those that are, as I have my moments too) it is as advertised. This is a PARTS KIT. When you read the description that in no way indicates that there is a book included, you should know to add the book to your order. And, C'MON! A book, AND a handful of electronic components for 13 bucks?! Really? You're going to pay almost that at Radio Shack just for the jumpers. They are actually decent little jumper wires that are fairly flexible, but have the solid ends with heat shrink, which makes them easy for my big fingers to manipulate. I didn't put the other components under a microscope, but then I'm not building a space shuttle either. The kit is good. ;-)

This is an interesting and convenient starter kit for beginning to teach myself to build and program Arduino circuits. The included solderless breadboard jumper kit (flexible wire) is more convenient than one made of rigid wires that I bought earlier. The only thing I didn't use was the little breadboard but I am sure I will find a use for it one day.

Very helpful starter kit. If you need hassle-free jumper wires and some of the components for the first few lessons in the book by the same name, you'll want this. Of course you can make your own patch wire, buy your own LEDs, resistors and switches, but this will save you time and effort.

Bought this set for my daughter who is 16 years of age. She has found it very useful and complements many of the projects commonly found in beginners book on Arduino. The quality is excellent. The wires alone will save the enthusiast a lot of time from doing it themselves. I just wish that the board had been bigger. For many projects it scarcely has space for anything.

Needed some parts to do a little arduino tinkering. Seemed like a good affordable price. What surprised me is that it said I was supposed to get this May 28th and instead got it the 3rd; very happy for that.

I gave it 5 starts for what it is: a few parts to get started. If you're looking for more I'd get something else.

The package had been arrived on time but the package did not include 1K ohm resistor and 220 or 330 ohm resistors like advertising.
