A must for fans of the "Spru-can",

This review is from: Electronic Greyhounds: The Spruance-Class Destroyers (Hardcover)
Personally, the Spruance Class of destroyers is my favorite. This book outlines, in great detail, the development, procurement, armament, propulsion systems, equipment, configurations, proposed variants, and operational history/milestones of this important class of US destroyer. The book also examines the Kidd and Ticonderoga class ships, which are advancements of the basic DD963 design. A good selection of B+W photos and line drawings complement the rich text. If you are a fan of the "Spru-can" or have even a passing interest in modern naval ships, this book should be in your collection. Highly recommended.

Great book. Very interesting design history. Good photos. Some info on the Tico class included. Operational histories are a great read. More info/photos of the missile launchers & gun systems on the Kidds/Ticos would have made it 5 stars.

Well, it's not too bad. Myself being on a mighty spru-can, can say it's made me look at things a little differently.
