It is a good book for beginnger. It teaches music reading, basic music skill on electronic keyboard. It has lots of simple exercies and familar children's songs. Highly recommended for everyone who likes to start music learning.

Bought this to assist in 10 year old's keyboard learning. It's geared to a lower level than he is at, but I think it would be perfect for younger children, or even 9-11 year old's who are not as motivated to learn.

Alternatives:

Another good book, and one we also purchased from Amazon, is John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course (parts one and two). This is easy to read, and follow. John Thompson has another series of books, John Thompson' Modern Course for the Piano, First Grade Book. This is a demanding series and a child should probably finish both of the "Easiest Piano Course" books before going into this.
