Product Description

Editorial Review

Just like Spider-Man, your spidey senses will be tingling when you play the Electronic Spider Stompin' Game--a squishy, battery-powered (three AAA, not included) test of reaction time for one or two players. The arachnid amusement begins when you unroll the three-dimensional, vinyl floormat portraying a colorful array of 10 soft-bodied, pop-up spiders that blink red at random intervals--depending on which of five game speeds you've selected from the push-button controls on the center nest. Players score points by stomping their feet on the blinking beast before it escapes off the mat, all the while enduring smart-aleck cobweb comments like "Ha Ha, ya missed me!" or sound effects like a satisfied "Chomp!" after a successful escape. Add to the mix a razzle-dazzle underscore of silly music during each round of play, and the Electronic Spider Stompin' Game provides more than an itsy-bitsy bit of fast family fun. --Tony Mason

5.0 out of 5 stars Get them tired!, December 26, 2000

We've had this game for 2 days...and already I'm loving it as much as my 4 and 6 year old daughters. It is a perfect toy for a cold or rainy day when the kids are indoors. It keeps them active and actually tires my 4 year old out. The music on it is a little annoying...but I can easily tune it out. Also...unless you plan on sitting there resetting it each time the game ends (each game lasts 30 seconds)...it is best if you have a child at least 5 or 6 playing so that they can do the 'resets'. It's just one of those games that is fun for little kids...and allows the parents to have a time out.

4.0 out of 5 stars a full of engery, 4 year old's mom, December 5, 2000

This seems to be a great toy that's lots of fun. The only drawback is that the plastic spiders are really hard and hurt your feet when you stomp them. You have to really step hard on the spiders to score, that I have to make my 4 year old wear shoes when he plays so his feet won't hurt. However, it will occupy little ones for hours.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, doesn't quit make it, March 3, 2002

This game is a poor attempt to mimic the video games found at Chuck-E-Cheese. The spiders are large bumps of hard plastic and it takes alot of pressure for them to register a hit. Without shoes on it hurts and is difficult, with shoes on, the plastic mat will get ripped quickly. I'm sorry I bought it.
