5.0 out of 5 stars Big Bowling Birthday Hit!!
My son got this bowling game for his 3rd birthday and it was the hit of the party. Even us adults couldn't stop playing with it. The bowling pins shake and talk to you and when you get all of the pins down they cheer for you. It really is a great toy and will bring loads of entertainment for years. Highly recommended!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun and boring all in one.
This is a very cute game to start out with but it gets old fast. The commercial for this is very misleading, as it shows the pins in a cartoon-like state saying all different kinds of phrases. While I knew the cartoon exxagerated , with well it being a cartoon, I didn't realize that each pin would only have one phrase each that they say each time they get hit. Also the...

We bought this for my 2yo daughter about 3 months ago and she loves it! It is very durable and so stable you can set it up on carpet. With most bowling games the pins fall over before the ball hits them-but not with this one. My daughter also loves to hear them speak to her. We have no problem hearing them. She also loves the fact that they shake. If you have a toddler this is a must have toy!

I bought this bowling set simply because it was made by Hasbro. Hasbro produces nothing but quality detailed products in my opinion. Like all Hasbro toys, the sound is very clear and the components are durable and smooth and pretty. I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old daughter, but my nearly five year old son loves it, too. (Of course, he loves everything.) I wanted her to gain some more physical coordination and it worked from the moment we opened the box. She can't aim quite straight yet, but she doesn't give up because she loves hearing the sound of the bowling pins as they chatter and tease and giggle. What's good is that the pins talk to you even when you do not hit them. The best part is when they all shake-up and ask you why you haven't hit them yet. Educationally, each pin has an expression on its face and speaks phrases that identify with their personality. Kids learn that its o.k to be grumpy, silly, or afraid. This is much like the Winnie the Pooh series where every character has a personality. And, I'm sure that like many of you, even into adulthood you've identified with one of the characters. My daughter keeps the instruction guide to this game (3 1/2) so that she can point to the pins in the illustration and try to match their names and personalities (Silly Sophie). She has learned them after two days of play. To be honest we only played with this game for two days and then I put in the trunk of the car for some reason. They've not asked for it, but my daughter notices the commercial each time that it comes on tv and talks about it. I think the fun with this game is longterm, because my daughter plays with it in her room while she is alone. They play together too and learn to share and take turns. Eventually they'll be counting and playing for competition. I had purchased the Little Tikes version some years ago for friends with two pre-school age boys, and she called to thank me because the game only promoted them to hit each other over the head with the pins and fight. With this set the thought has never entered they're mind. Great learning value, cooperation, counting, color matching, coordination, vocabulary. They make come back to it over and over again. I can see use until about 6 years old. For one or more player, so great for an only child to have excitement in their autonimous play. Enough said!

I think this toy is fun for kids and will help them count too. Most of all it is good indoor toy and they won't get bored.Plus it is so easy for them to keep the pins standing in one place.I think this is good for them to start learning sports.

As a mother of four, I found this toy great for my 2 1/2, 4- and 5-year-olds. It's extremely durable. The kids can set this one up by themselves. My 4-year-old hates playing by himself, but sets this one up for himself to play everyday. We've tried other bowling sets but the pins fall down before they let go of the ball. It can be set up on carpet. It helps my toddler with her colors. It can be played with alone or with others. All the kids laugh hysterically at the pins' talking and teasing. It's a winner!

The other week I was over at my friend's house helping him and his wife get ready for a party they were hosting that evening. Their 3 year old was jumping around in an adjacent room with all these silly voices issuing forth for the better part of two hours until it was time to go to bed. Not being too diverted by the tyke's activities I decided not to explore what was the center of his tiny little world that evening...until after the party started and some wandering fool stumbled across this fabuolous toy in the other room. Soon, the whole party was revolving around these 6 ridiculous pins with a fervor usurping even that child's emotional pinnacle while playing with them. Women and men in harmony until we had a few too many drinks and some of the ladies softball team turned it into a baseball game and put the stress to the test. Some of those degenerates were using it to sword fight and using the base as a shield(the voices of the pins were hysterical). What a night....

Durability- 100 percent under extreme conditions.

Fun- Best I had in a long while (Forget the cliche old Karaoke and Twister here after)

Educational- Yeah, I learned that kids toys can be far more engaging then the adult ones.

Get this toy. Kids thrive on it occassionally, and older children can even get vast enjoyment from such an odd twist on an old game.

How much more powerful can an 18-month-old feel being in charge of that much activity? My toddler is so proud of himself when he stacks all the pins up in their stands, then he wiggles and laughs along with the pins when they shake. The joy he gets from knocking them all over can't be beat, until he starts all over again.

We bought this game for my 3 year old last year. He and his older brother(7yrs old) play with it often. My (now) 4 year old gets it out every time we have company. It is probably the best gift we have bought in years!

I bought this game for my kids for Christmas last year (they were 3 & 5), and they loved the game. In fact, they still play will it a year later. Even though it's not exactly like real bowling, it's the same idea. And the kids love it! The only draw back I have found is it is hard to get the pins to "wobble" and be ready for a game. You have to press them all down at the same time, and I have a hard time doing that myself, much less the kids. But most of the time the kids don't care if they are playing a "game" and keeping score anyway. Overall, it's a fun game!!
