4.0 out of 5 stars Worth every cent ! Very Impressed!
I am a position and day trader and found their books very practical albeit time consuming to digest. I have read TNT I, II & III. In my opinion, TNT III is the best. In fact, I found the explanation of their technical analysis concepts clearer in the third volume especially on the 1-2-3 highs and lows and Ross Hooks. Joe Ross is by far and without any doubt best writer on financial matters. "Harold Robins" or "Konsalik" of financial markets. You have to love your first book from him. However, that's it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth every cent ! Very Impressed!, November 25, 1999
This review is from: Electronic Trading "TNT" III Technical Trading Stuff (Hardcover)
I had to read this book at least 3 times because the concepts are difficult to grasp but if you are willing to put the time and effort in, you will learn how to identify a trend and also how a stock behaves in a trend or in congestion based on their price bar activity. This book also includes how to use common indicators like Bollinger Bands, Stochastics and CCI specifically with the 1-2-3 highs/lows and Ross Hooks which you will not find in other books. They also describe various entry and exit techniques based on their concepts and how these can minimise the risk with certain trades. As a result, I have actually made money using their techniques alone and combined with classical technical analysis it provides that added advantage over the average trader. My only criticism of their books is that they do not use examples of actual stocks/commodities when illustrating their points. Despite this, I am looking forward to purchasing volume IV, the final in their series. PS. If you want to save money, give volume I a miss and buy volume III instead.

Joe Ross is by far and without any doubt best writer on financial matters. "Harold Robins" or "Konsalik" of financial markets. You have to love your first book from him. However, that's it!
What you are going to buy is very well written, expensive book about trading. Nothing more. Mr. Ross is repeating "his own" trading proposals (e.g. Ross hook) in each of his books. Of course he is a writer, not a trader! ...
"His" buying technics are well known history. After many centuries of trading game Mr. Ross gave his name to the oldest bull and bear rule - breakouts of higher top and higher bottom & lower bottom and lower top - "Ross hook". Wow, what a discovery, what an innovation!
Mr. Ross has many problems with exit points (sell first red candle or higher open or just later.....).
This book is full of worthless trading advices with some useful hints which you can find free of charge on Internet.
For a beginner in trading is Mr. Ross extremely dangerous writer because well explained nonsense has more creditibility than badly written truth.... My advice is better than those from Mr. Ross:
Be very careful and do your own research!
Never trade other people's system without your own verification!
Last not least, save your money on this book ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book on Technical Analysis of Stocks, May 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Electronic Trading "TNT" III Technical Trading Stuff (Hardcover)
Joe Ross and Mark Cherlin are to be congratulated for writing their four books about electronic stock trading, but in particular, I want to tell everyone how fantastic TNT III has been for my own trading. These two traders/authors have shown me what trading is truly like. I have especially enjoyed the contrast brought out with regards to the use of technical indicators versus "plain vanilla" trading.

I never realized how directly effective plain vanilla trading could be. In the past, I have allowed technical indicators to dominate my world of trading. Because of Ross and Cherlin I now know that what I really need is right there in front of me on a plain vanilla chart.

I guess one would have to say that TNT III presents it all, fantastic and unusual uses of technical indicators and ways to trade without using them at all. More than that, TNT III shows you how to combine the two. TNT III is truly a great book, and needs to be read and re-read numerous times. Anyone willing to do so will reap a great reward for the time spent. I found that each reading brought home things I had entirely missed on previous readings. There are few books in this world that have such tremendous depths of knowledge and wisdom.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best book on technical analysis I have ever read, May 24, 1999

This review is from: Electronic Trading "TNT" III Technical Trading Stuff (Hardcover)
Electronic Trading "TNT" III Technical Trading Stuff is absolutely the best book on technical analysis I have ever read, and believe me I have read them all!

The authors present technical analysis of the stock market in a clear and logical presentation that will bring to any market technician those things he needs most. Each chapter reveals fantastic new concepts, the truth of the markets as never before seen. Ross and Cherlin are to be congratulated for their insight and perception of just what a trader needs and wants to know. The methodology is superb. There is no book that can hold a candle to this one, and it is destined to become a classic in the field of trading and technical analysis.

4.0 out of 5 stars good but not great, February 9, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Electronic Trading "TNT" III Technical Trading Stuff (Hardcover)
I found the book to have a lot of interesting topics, but hard to understand and put together for a person new to trading. I could not understand if I should use all the trading methods or just select the ones I felt comfortable with. It was better than I and II, but hard as I said to put it all together. I love the works of Joe Ross as I feel he is the only way one can have a chance to make money.
