Contrary to the previous review, I found this album a complete success. The problem with that review was that they were approaching the album from a strictly Floydian perspective. I have been a die-hard Pink Floyd fan for years, however, I am also a fan of techno music. Provided that you enjoy techno music, and even if you are not a Pink Floyd fan, you will certainly...

1.0 out of 5 stars MAKE IT STOP!
THIS IS A TRIBUTE? Pink Floyd wasn't meant to be transformed into techno-torture. I can't see David Gilmour scratching up 33lp's on a turntable to give "Money" a beat. The soundclips alone: 1)crashed my computer 2)made my fiancee's ears bleed 3)made my cat go into a seizure. This album has one of 3 purposes: 1) an expensive coaster 2)an expensive frisbee...

3.0 out of 5 stars what you would expect of a floyd and techno mix, September 23, 2000

From the perspective of a person who loves floyd and techno, this album's great. I think some of the artist are dry and can't pull out a good house beat but the trance tunes are great. Though the songs are completely different fromt the originals, it brings new and different levels to the music. Listen to it in a psychedelic state of mind and you'll understand. If you're looking for a more fundamental tribute or don't like techno, DO NOT BUY! If anyone knows where to find this album on 12" vinyl records, let me know.

1.0 out of 5 stars no way, August 27, 2002

This CD is awful. I'm not a die-hard Floyd fan, just a strong admirer, so I can assure you that my opinion isn't swayed when I say that almost every song on here sounds like a cheesy, eighties balad. Even if you've never heard of Pink Floyd you would know that these "remixes" are an atrocity.

1.0 out of 5 stars Miserable, March 4, 2003

I love Pink Floyd more than I could ever describe, and I'm a pretty big fan of electronic remixes. That said, this album was absolute garbage. The remixes themselves were mostly decent, but nearly every track was ruined by exceptionally whiny and annoying vocals. The one exception is Learning to Fly, which is a wonderfully remixed, vocal-less track. But it certainly wasn't worth the [$$$] I paid for this album..

I have been a die-hard Pink Floyd fan for years, however, I am also a fan of techno music. Provided that you enjoy techno music, and even if you are not a Pink Floyd fan, you will certainly enjoy this album. The songs are very well rearranged so as to include most of the background effects used in the original songs. The songs vary from hard trance to a little bit of jungle to a cutting edge dance-like sound that is very Brit-Pop in origin. I encourage you to listen to this album and other techno albums so as to expand your musical horizons.

1.0 out of 5 stars If Floyd knew this was going to happen..., August 23, 2006
HOLY S**IT!!! Are you serious? I am an absolute fan of Floyd and Electronic/Techno music(how that happens, I don't know) but this is a tragic mistake that know realignment of the stars could ever correct. I am in no way taking from each of these contributers "talent", but come on! DID YOU EVER LISTEN TO THE ORIGINALS! I'll give credit to Hande Frei and Learning to Fly. It's different enough to be considered original for a tribute, but the others are absolute poop(keeping to the review guidlines...) Can you wash your eyers to get that sound out somehow? eechh...

Though I love Pink Floyd and I love electronic music this cd could have been so much better. If only they didn't only play mostly radio floyd on here. Not only that but there are NO Syd Barrett era floyd tunes on here. Thats a travesty in itself since Interstellar Overdrive and Astronomy Domine would have been prefect in an elecronic setting. Hell, any of the early floyd songs would have. And nothing from Saucerful of Secrets either. What a shame. Well its not terrible but I could see this being much better too. Oh well. Maybe make an early floyd electronic tribute. That would be nice. Theres no making electronic songs out of The Final Cut though that is a ncie album.

This cd is for anyone who likes the modern twist in music and also has a unquenchable thirst for the classics. Well done and easy to get into. A great twist on the best artists of our time.

as a huge floyd fan and electric remix fan, i was dissapointed after buying this cd, nowhere near as good as the ORB remixes more like pop remixes than trance, i wish i would have read the reviews on amazon before spending my money for a cd that i will only listen to very occasionally if i remember i have it
