Product Description

This repeller combines two systems: Electro-Magnetic Interference and Ultrasonic noise

Ultrasound is a loud noise at a high frequency: it's generally too high for humans and domestic pets to hear, but is thought to be audible to most rodents. We imagine that, for rodents and spiders, it's like having a smoke alarm going off constantly.

Whenever electricity passes through a wire, an electromagnetic field is created: it has been suggested that electromagnetic fields create an environment where rodents and spiders are less likely to nest. Rodents and spiders are likely to move quickly away from a house where they cannot nest.
If the rodents have already built a nest in your house, they are unlikely to desert their young until they are old enough to move. Fortunately, rodents mature quickly and the babies will be fully grown within a month. If you suspect that there is a nest in your house you can speed up the removal process with traps, but remember that traps alone do not provide a long-term solution: the problem with traps and poisons is that they rely on heavily-scented bait that may have the unwanted effect of attracting pests into your house.

Electromagnetic waves have been suggested to affect the nervous systems of spiders and are thought to be the main cause of spiders leaving the house.

Plug the device in either in the kitchen or alternatively where you see most pest activity.

Ensure that all food that the rodents can eat or that is attracting them into the house is in tins or ideally air-tight containers.

It also makes a loud clicking noise when it is plugged in.

When I got it, the instructions clearly said that it would repel the spiders in only ONE room of my house.

I then set old fashioned traps caught 2 mice and have seen none since.

After not having much luck with electronic bug/spider repellers, we had pretty much given up. Granted, our problem wasn't HUGE, but still waking up in the morning and having Mr. Spider waiting for you in your living room was not fun at all. Being on a first floor apartment, we noticed the big guys wandering into the house mostly in the spring and fall, more so in the autumn months. This year, the size of these spiders was unbearable. I wouldn't say I have a phobia, but the fear is large enough where for me, it was time to invest in something worth it. Again, nothing like your heart rate spiking when you turn the light on and are looking a those evil creatures.

So, I did some research and found that the company who manufactures these repellers are based in the UK, where spider problems are definitely evident. So after reading as many reviews as I could to see if these were worth the $50 USD, I determined that it was worth a shot. Our apartment is only about 1200 sq ft, and these claimed to take care of a two-story home at around 2000 sq ft. The first week, I will admit, we noticed no difference. Spiders were still found at certain times all around the apartment, mainly in the living room, kitchen, and guest bathroom.

HOWEVER, after letting this thing do its job for a couple weeks, we came to a realization. After installing the device, we noticed that the spiders we found weren't scurrying like they normally did when we got close. It was almost as if they were paralyzed.

We bought two of these for our vacation house located in the deep woods on a lake. We put one in the hall upstairs (center of the house) and one in the basement. We are only in the home on the weekends and not necessarily every weekend. So most of my visits were spent cleaning out spiders everywhere, not to mention in fall/winter months we battle mice.

After only a month I can state with no hesitation it works tremendously on house spiders. I usually would find them in every possible corner of the house and couldn't find a single one this last visit after not having been in the house a solid 2 weeks. We did find, however, a very large and harry hunting spider in the back bedroom of the house; I'm guessing they are immune to the sounds these put out. Hunting spiders are not dangerous, but then neither are house spiders.

The real test will be this fall/winter when mouse season is upon us again. I will update my review then.

was pleasantly surprised--yes i was skeptical--but it works! I live with my cat Punkin, yes she allows me to share HER space; didn't faze her AT ALL. I hope this helps other pet owners. Punkin and I were getting bit up by spiders..what a nightmare! i CAN FINALLY TURN OFF MY LIGHTS AT NIGHTS AT NIGHT--kept them at bay--and actually sleep thru the night!!

Works as advertised, other than I haven't had a chance to test the audio part of it, as no mice/rats have invaded the house. The electromagnetics have been surprisingly effective. Repulsed mud wasps and a family of bats that have been living in the walls for a long time.

The "whole house" clam only applies to the way this unit can affect rats or mice. I needed the ultrasonic repeller for spiders. I thought this would cover my "whole house". When I got it, the instructions clearly said that it would repel the spiders in only ONE room of my house. There was a very active spider across the room where the unit was placed that was NOT affected by it. I have had one-room units that repel spiders very well but this was not in the same league. It was a waste of $60. After a year, I have thrown it out.
