Poor Quality and Beckett does not stand behind its product,

This review is from: HeatManagerTM Fuel Economizer [Electronics] (Misc.)
Purchased about two years ago. Replaced sensors about 4 times as they made new designs but did not warrant the old designs which did not last. Replaces old sensors recently and the Heat Manger controller malfunctioned and would not correct itself. Emailed Beckett and first email took a week to respond and second email asking for repair has not been returned in three weeks so far. I do not recoment this product and would wait till another company makes one and will stand behind it.

Installed Dec 2008. It cured the short-cycling problem.I'm not sure how much oil I've saved, but I like having fewer long burns, instead of having the burner come on every few minutes during cold weather. The on-line dealer replaced my 1st unit, since I was mistakenly convinced it wasn't working correctly. The intermittent power problem was actually caused by the boiler installer electrician. Poor workmanship. It took a few more weeks of testing before it was found and repaired. I've been pleased with the operation of the manager, and I've used it with a new timer that we installed summer 2010. I've also upgraded the spark controller mounted on the burner motor. This new unit shuts off the high-voltage transformer about 12 seconds after the flame gets running hot. Saves some AC power and it makes less noise. |
