Being an electronics engineer, I have been striving to find quality management tools and techniques in context with electronics products and after having gone through number of generic books, I finally found the book which deals the quality management very comprehensively from product development perspective. Book is organized in form of 9 well organized and well written (rather highly detailed oriented) chapters. The highlight of the book could be chapter 2 which deals with the definition of quality from perspective of electronics Product Company. The book start with descript of ISO9000 pretty much like other books but add value by covering product certification in Europe and US and also deals with registration and certification. Then book divert a little into Deming way of quality management mostly from management perspectives. Chapter 6 touches upon concept of TQM model. The book did not leave the most important part of quality management that is subcontractor and supplier quality assessment which may probably be most crucial to a fast paced electronics product company. Unusually the book covers a lot of details on Malcolm Baldrige Award probably from the enterprise perspective to gain customer satisfaction and ensuring corporate wide quality management. The closing highlight of the book is sample electronics company quality system manual. flooded with number of flow charts, tables, tools and techniques in a very precise manner, this book is an authentic source of reading on quality management as it is practiced in major corporations.
