I purchased this device for my teenage daughter as Christmas present. I was skeptical but decided it was worth a try and because it was priced around $78 and everything she was looking for in an MP4 player. I used 2 day shipping and the package arrived early on 12/22. Once it was charged up I tested it and it worked a little better than I expected it too. it plays MP4's well. You have to download the program to your computer and convert the avi's you want to transfer to the player the provided program; but its pretty simple. My daughter uses the supplied earbuds for private MP3 listening but it the system also has a built in speaker. The camera is a little grainy and it works similar to most rudimentary camera phones. The FM receiver works pretty well and the ability to record FM broadcasts is a plus. Overall the product is a good bang for the buck. You can charge by plugging the USB cord into any female USB port. The wall adapter portion was the only sore point. It lasted about 2 days and quit working. (Fortunately a $9 Motorola charger also works)

I ordered the 16GB MP3/MP4 Play W/FM Radio and Camera because I was wanting something to listen to while I was out walking. And based on the list of features that it reported to have it sounded like it would work great for what I wanted.

After charging it for 24 hours, just to make sure is was fully charged, because the instructions do not say how long it should be charged for the first time. In fact the instructions are of very little help at all. I then loaded it with music as per the supplied instructions.

Once charged, I tried to use it. Getting the touch screen to work can be a chore. So as per the supplied instructions, using the tool supplied I have calibrated the touch screen. This has not helped. The touch screen just does not seem register the touches as it should. Navigating to find the music is pains taking and very time consuming. I have to press the location on the screen a number of times to get it to work. And on some occasions I have to exit the screen and come back to get it to work.

So I contacted the supplier via email as per the supplied instructions. The response:
"I am sorry to hear that. The touch screen issue is normally caused by mis calibration of the screen.
Did this happen before or after you calibrate the screen? Can you tell us how you did the calibration? It can be easily fixed by reloading the firmware. We just need to know what caused it to determine the best way to fix it. Let us know. Thank you"

Once informed that the touch screen issue started before calibration of the screen. That I did the calibration by touching the screen in the three locations given once you choose calibration, as per the supplied instructions. And that I had now recalibrated it a number of times.

This is a beautiful piece of equipment, and the controls are simple and intuitive. So, why am I giving it a rating of one star? Here are 8 reasons:

1. For anyone who wants to use this player to listen to audio books (or multi-movement orchestral works) encoded as multiple MP3 files (one per track), there is a major problem. The unit has two audio play modes-- "normal" and "shuffle". The normal mode plays tracks in reverse order (last to first), while the shuffle mode plays them in random order. It appears that there is no way to make the tracks play in the correct order.

As per a recent posting by Pro Ebiz, "The device plays the tracks in the order of files that were loaded into the player. If no. 216 was put onto the player first, it will play that file first. So, in order to play the files from 1 - 216, you need to sort the files on the computer from 1 - 216 and then select all files and transfer them to the player. That way, no1 gets onto the player first and will be played first."

This sounds fine in theory, but when when I tell Microsoft Windows to copy a group of files from one folder to another, I don't have any control over the order in which the files are copied. I could copy one file at a time, but this is impractical for 216 files.

2. There is no technical support. (Pro Ebiz LLC has a website, but one cannot contact them via phone or e-mail).

3. There is no way to attach a lanyard.

The above three issues were the "killers" that caused me to decide in favor of returning the unit for a refund.

4. As other reviewers have noted, the touch screen is difficult to use. Sometimes a single press will do the job, but sometimes one must press multiple times to get a response.

5.

I bought this product 7 months ago, It worked great until I dropped on the tile. Screen broke, Not a surprise, Even the name brand does that.. I Emailed PE and they helped me out BIG time! What they did for me was something that apple or sony would never do in a million years. This company is top notch and they really care about their customers. Back to the Product.. This is a pretty amazing little thing. Holds an unlimited amount of music, Videos, MOVIES! and pictures WITH expandable memory. My favorite part about this thing is that you can put movies on it! The AVI converter they supplied did not work so I downloaded a different software. The little camera is pretty nice too. If you are a first timer with MP3 players, or upgrading to a bigger GB player, this is the way to go. Obviously you can't buy this as a replacment to an Ipod, But still, its pretty nice! Also you can save notes on there using notepad on your computer. There are many other cool little features on this thing I can go on forever about. My favorite aspect of this thing is that if someone steals this, they will turn it on and go.. "what the!!??" All and all, its a very nice product, JUST BE CAREFUL!! and an even nicer company. I will definetly continue my support with this company.
