4.0 out of 5 stars A book for all seasons, September 17, 2009
This review is from: Electroplating (Workshop Practice Series) (Workshop Practice Series) (Paperback)
It is all here! Love, romance, murders, a spell binding weave of heros and villens. Ya, Right. It is a book on electroplating. I would wear the goggles and the gloves if you are going to try any of this. It does not cover chrome (with good reason!) but gives enough information for the average home mad scientist to desolve most of his clothes and workshop. The section on plating with mandrils could use a lot more detail to make sense so no 5 stars. Buying Potassium Chlorate, conc. nitric acid and conc. sulphuric acid should get you noticed on most government watch lists but hey, we're Americans! The book is short on disclamers, I would read the safety sheets (on the internet, not in the book, which has none) on all the chemicals used, but provides information on how to electroplate stuff with the relativly less dangerous chemicals and has a good section on the math to judge electrical flows. It shows you how to do it. Getting rid of the mess later is your problem.

This book could go into more depth, but of course that is not what you're paying for here. It seems that to get a better book costs a lot more, I may splurge on a better book in the future but for now am sticking with this.
