With its state-of-the-art battery technology, the Electrovaya Scribbler SC 2010 Tablet PC offers a battery life of up to 9 hours. Stylishly professional, the SC 2010 featrues a brushed aluminum finish and a snap-on cover that's 0.25 inches thick and includes a full keyboard and removeable trackpad. This thin Tablet PC also boasts a 1.2 GHz Intel Centrino processor, 512 MB of installed RAM, 60 GB hard drive, 12.1-inch display, 54g Wi-Fi connectivity, and fast USB 2.0 and Firewire ports.

The Basics

• Hard Drive: The 60 GB hard drive is an average size for notebook PCs, offering enough capacity for storing documents, digital media files, and productivity software for road warriors. It offers the largest hard drive in the Scribbler 2000 series.
• Processor: The 1.2 GHz Pentium M (Centrino) processor is at the low end of the spectrum. While it's not recommended for high-end multimedia or gaming, it is well equipped for basic computing tasks, from Internet browsing to office productivity software. The Pentium M processor is designed specifically for low-power mobile usage, and it features the latest in power-saving technologies--ensuring you push your battery and productivity to the max.
• Memory: The 512 MB of built-in memory is becoming the standard for notebooks, and it offers double the RAM of the Scribbler SC 2000. However, due to the compact size of Tablet PCs in general, the SC 2010 can only be expanded to a total of 768 MB of memory.
• CD/DVD Drive: Because of its thin profile, this Tablet PC does not include an optical drive. However, an optional docking station is available, which includes a DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive.
• Keyboard & Mouse: The SC 2010's sanp-on cover includes a full-size keyboard and a trackpad that connects to either side of the tray. The cover/keyboard also includes a tablet support for attaching the Tablet PC to sit in landscape orientation.

Sound and Graphics
The 12.1-inch XGA TFT pressure sensitive 32-bit Toshiba display offers a video resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, and it's run by a 32 MB Intel 8285x GM/GME graphics controller. It also features integrated Realtek AC97 audio card and internal stereo speakers.

Connectivity and Expansion Slots
This SC 2010 has an integrated 802.11g wireless LAN (which is compatible with the more widespread 802.11b and offers faster data transmission rates). You get a basic offering of connectivity options, which does include super-fast USB 2.0:

• 2 USB 2.0 ports for connecting a wide range of peripherals--from digital cameras to MP3 players
• 1 Firewire (IEEE 1394) for connecting digital camcorders and external hard drives
• 1 VGA monitor port
• 1 PCMCIA (or PC Card) slot
• 1 infrared port
• 1 headphone jack and 1 microphone jack

It also has an integrated 56K modem (V.90) and an RJ-45 LAN network port (for a 10/100 Ethernet connection to networks and DSL/cable modems). It also has a hot-swappable bay for adding an optional optical drive or second battery.

This system comes with the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition operating system, and it also features the following Tablet PC applications: Corel Grafigo, Franklin Covey Tablet Planner, Alias Sketchbook, Note Taking, Ink Annotation, Speech Recognition, and Onscreen Keyboard.
