The packaging says "Adult Assembly Required," and it means it. It took several minutes just to release Cheeky from all the ties that held him in the box, then it took two grown-ups - my wife holding Cheeky's butt while I held his tail in both hands trying to force it into the hole where it went - to assemble him. Okay, that done, we played ring toss with the monkey while he rolled around on the carpet (low pile, it rolled pretty well). His moves change direction often enough that tossing one of the small rings onto his tail was extremely difficult for us(pure luck when one landed right), and would be almost impossible for toddlers. Trying to anticipate his moves and just dropping a ring onto his tail was a lot easier, and I assume this is the way young kids would play.

Cheeky makes a lot of noise, and keeping up with him while trying to get their three rings on his tail has some decent play value for youngsters, but I imagine most kids would quickly outgrow this kind of game. There is some value in learning to move with Cheeky and practice hand-eye coordination.

All things considered, it's an okay game for toddlers and preschool-age kids.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Elefun was a surprisingly fun game for a couple of kids to play together, and it was always a hit at my daughter's birthday parties for the younger kids. She'll be turning 7 in February, and we needed another game for toddlers that will be coming too. Chasin' Cheeky seemed like a perfect fit, and looked like it'd be similar to Elefun with a twist. Sure enough, the kids I've let play with this have had a blast! Really, the only downside is that it comes with just 2 different colored sets of rings. You can always improvise to add in another player or two though, using bracelets or something similar.

Cheeky is easy to set up and only requires two C batteries to power on. Insert his tail and you're set! Activate Cheeky, and he moves along the floor. Two players take turns trying to get their rings on his tail. Whoever can get all their rings on has to run up and get the banana out of his mouth and they win. It's a very easy game to play, perfect for toddlers who are new to games like this or just love games that have them running around. The monkey himself is well-built, and doesn't really have anything dangerous that kids should be cautious of. He's a bit on the loud side with the motor and pivoting, so keep this in mind so there's no surprise when you get the toy for yourself.

Since it's mainly for two players and each game is done quickly, this is ideal for multiple toddlers who take turns, two at a time, during a party or play date. They'll also get a kick out of Cheeky shaking his caboose after the banana is taken out of his mouth. If it weren't for the loud noise and lack of even one extra set of different colored rings, he'd get 5 stars from me easily.

Right out of the box Chasin' Cheeky is ready to go once you add the 2 "C" batteries, which are not included. The object of the game is to chase Cheeky around, yes he moves, and throw your rings on his tail. Once your rings are on his tail, you then grab the banana from his mouth and you win! Once the kids are done, just put the banana back in his mouth and rings on the tail and Cheeky is ready to be stored, no box or bag required! I love that he stores so easily and there are no small parts to loose! I mean there are eight pieces total in this game!

I received this game to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I thought this would be a sure hit with my 3 year-old grandson, but he was rather ambivalent to it. Not that the toy doesn't do what i says. Here's the premise: Two players each take a set of colored rings; you turn the monkey on, and it moves forward, backward, spins, twirls, and the point is to toss your rings onto it's tail. The first one to get all their rings on the tail is the winner, then pulls the banana from the monkey's mouth, and the monkey shakes its behind. Ok, simple enough, and I would have thought that the relatively minor difficulty that it is to get a ring onto the tail of a moving target would provide for some laughs, and watching the monkey wiggle its behind at the winner would be a hoot.

Oh well. With all due fairness, it could be that my grandson, who is more enamored with Thomas trains and playing Angry Birds on the iPad, found the idea of hooking plastic rings onto a money's tail was just too low-tech. I don't know. The toy is designed well, is colorful, moves well (not as well on carpet) and is a simple game to grasp. So, your mileage may very with the intended child in your life. I would say that a child playing this game would increase their hand-eye coordination as it takes a little doing to hook a ring on the tail from a distance. Other than that, educational value is pretty slim. PLUS, it's REALLY REALLY LOUD. Annoyingly loud. I would have preferred it come with more rings in different colors to make it suitable for a group of children to play it.

Requires to "C" batteries which are NOT included. Did I mention it was LOUD?

Word of advice: The "tail" has to be inserted into a slot on the monkey's behind, and you have to press it so hard to the point that you think you're going to break it to get it to snap in.
