Product Description

From the Manufacturer

It’s a bouncin’, snackin’ barrel of fun with the Snackin' Safari game. Grab your elephant with his attached springy truck and go to home base, then start bouncing your elephant’s trunk on the snack cards to pick up a tasty snack. Once it’s caught, run back to home base and drop it off, then get back to the snackin’ as quick as you can. Make a pile of snacks, and if your pile is the biggest at the end, you win.

1.0 out of 5 stars A huge disappointment January 20, 2013
My daughter was so excited when I gave this game to her, but that excitement didn't last long. This game looks like a lot of fun, but the fun stops as soon as you start playing. The suction cups at the end of the elephants' trunks are supposed to pick up the cards, but they don't. This game is unplayable in our house, at least it is unplayable in its original design form. We now use the elephants as makeshift Slinkies. It's not a tremendous amount of fun, but it brings a couple of giggles every now and then.

Save your money. This game is a huge disappointment.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some design issues January 17, 2013
Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)

This is an OK toy, one that, if my son is any guide, will quickly lose favor.
Perhaps when he's older than 3.
The idea is that, with a suction cup on the end of a bouncing spring, you pick up glossy cards and run helter-skelter. We found that the cup will lose suction and all you'll get instead is frustration.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible January 13, 2013

There is no way Hasbro tested this toy before putting it on the market. The suction cups don't stick to the cards--even the adults in my family can't do this. They might have had something had they used magnets, but this is a horribly designed toy. Don't disappoint your kids or waste your money!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless January 9, 2013

My boys got this game as a gift for Christmas. I can't believe that this is on the market, its terrible. The elephant trunks don't pick up the cards, looks like a spring yard sale item. Don't waste your money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Horrible but fixable...velcro! January 2, 2013

This game is so bad I can't believe they still sell it. It took about 60 seconds to determine I threw my money away on this one. Luckily, my fondness for velcro gave me the idea to attach it to the trunks and to the cards. Two minutes later, we had a game again. Oh, it's not great by any means, but at least my kids can play it now.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, Just Terrible! December 27, 2012
Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Durability: 2.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I am an expert in boys toys, and kids games. This game is terrible. My boys (ages 5 and 6) tried this game for 10 minutes. They could not get it to work. My other boys were not interested. So I tried. I couldn't get it to work.

There is an elephant head, hooked to a spring, and you have a suction cup hooked to the bottom. That suction cup is supposed to hook to the cards. Little kids trying to make the spring work is next to impossible. But when they do hit the card, the suction cup doesn't work. My oldest boy put gum on the end...that just made a mess of the floor! SKIP THIS GAME!

I will update it with a video so you can see exactly what I am talking about.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Preschool Game September 26, 2012
Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Durability: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
The pieces were the perfect size for our two-year old, and he enjoyed picking them up with the "trunk". The only thing I can say wasn't great was that those pieces wouldn't stay attached once they were picked up, which led to some frustration for him. Other than that, it was a hit with him and the two older kids (7 and 4) that he played it with.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but not long-lasting September 20, 2012
Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Durability: 2.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I appreciate that folks are still coming up with new ways to entertain us and this was a valiant effort! But...

After receiving, I turned the game over to my twin 4 2/2 year old grandsons... They were not so interested in rules, just wanted to learn how to pick up the pieces with the slinky suction cup thingies. That said, they had a good two hours of fun. One of the suction cups quit working consistently within that time frame. Another slinky got bent by overeager use (kids... go figure). After the first weekend, they have not been interested in playing with the game again.

Maybe if the pieces were metallic and the suction cup were a light magnet?? As it is, I would stick with jacks or go fish.

All the best,

Jay
