Beautiful, beautiful music. I was so taken with it as I watched the movie, that I went out today and bought the soundtrack. Very soothing to listen to....I highly recommend it.

Soulful, moving music. Not plastic or contrived,in my opinion, nor does it sound formula driven. I am not, however, a professional musician. But I do know good music when I hear it, and this stands out. I love this soundtrack. A nice piece by Chet Baker on it among others. All the other artists are unknown to me, which makes it an even better find. You may or may not agree, but I think most mainstream music is anemic, vapid and trite so this soundtrack came as a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

Whenever I need something in the background to keep me relaxed but aware, this CD hits the spot. Great mix of different types of music, all played and recorded with professionalism. Bravo.

Beautiful, moving music for quiet times with a little added soulfulness and salsa. I am disappointed that the soundtrack did not include the beautiful opera aria, which was my main curiosity!! Would have given 5 stars if I could have found out that one...(any input appreciated).

Elegy is a movie that never received widespread recognition, but it's very well-acted and beautifully scored. Penelope Cruz does an amazing job and Ben Kingsley is his usual brilliant self.

This was the first order I placed at Amazon. The DVD was in excellent condition, but since the case had a crack in it, I gave it four stars.

This compilation is lovely, and doubly so if you liked the movie. Melancholy, emotional, quiet with some bright spots of jazzy. Refined. I personally purchased and downloaded some of the mp3 songs on amazon for playback on windows media player. But playing them, notably the "gnossiennes" 3 and 4, was simply painful to my ears ! The quality is disastrous. Thinking it may have been my computer speakers, I tried connecting separate, good quality speakers. I also tried uploading and playing from my zen player. LOUD crackling no matter how low I play it, effectively ruining the song, through and through. This is with or without sound equalizing by the way, I tried everything. This is the kind of piece that cannot be appreciated unless it's crystalline in my opinion, but it's not even close to decent.

UPDATE: so I never got a reply, and it doesn't matter because it turns out it was clearly my computer (HPdv6000). Have a new one that is playing it perfectly, I am a very happy camper! (still not sure how the file was also cracking on my zen, and have not tried this yet again but will)
