This product is of amazing quality and design, the packing and presentation is Neiman-Marcus quality. Once installed (takes a lot of effort and patience) it looks great. I would give this product FIVE STARS if it wasn't for two major draw backs.

The biggest draw back is that it does not fit in any charging cradle designed for the iPhone 5. I have three different charging cradles (Belkin and two Apple) and it did not work with any of them. Removing the case to charge the phone is not option because the case is pretty much a permanent accessory. It takes four miniature screws to remove the case and highly precise placement of four button adapters (mute, volume high, volume low and off an on switch) every time you put the case on the phone. The second draw back is the lack of instructions. The case comes with several options and each has its own individual instruction card, but nothing that guides you step-by-step. You sort of have to figure that on your own and with a lot of patience. The most difficult part of the assembly is the part where you have to place the four adapter buttons in the wood case and carefully align the phone. None of that is explained in any of the instructions, not even what the four lose buttons are for or two miniature spare screws. The lack of attention to how a consumer would put this together tells me it hasn't been tested in the market place and they have not received many consumer feedback. A customer friendly touch would be to add a disclaimer that the case cannot be used with a charging cradle. The most disappointing experience was wasting an hour to put it together only to realize I have to take it apart and send it back because the convenience of using a charging cradle trumps the beauty of any phone case.

After googling wood and aluminum iPhone cases, I eventually splurged the very hard to justify $200 on this extremely beautiful case for a phone that costs roughly $550. On it's own, that takes a lot of self-convincing and 'any excuse will do justification.' Alas, I ordered it, installed it and......enjoyed exactly one week of "hey, cool case" comments before it vibrated off the counter and the wooden side panels both splintered into irreparable pieces. The company said they'd send me new parts for it for around $60, but I couldn't justify spending another $60 on something that didn't perform well to begin with.

That being said, as an actual case that may need to protect your phone in a real life dropping scenario, odds are that this very expensive and very pretty case is going to explode on you within the first few drops.
