First, let me note that I picked this up on sale for $269 at a chain store during the 2013 holiday shopping specials. I consider it a very good value at that price.

Pros:
Very happy with the picture, even during sports.
Standard DVD's look very good on it as played through a component (non-HDMI, non-upconverting) connection.
3 HDMI inputs, I Component input, 1 VGA input. NOTE: No old-school standard RCA (red, white, yellow) inputs. Buy a new HDMI DVD player. They are cheap now.
Very light and easy to move around.

Cons:
The sound from the built in speakers is mundane. Serviceable and nothing wrong with it for a guest bedroom. But if you like full, rich, booming sound when you watch TV, you'll need to take the following measures.

1. The cheap/easy way is to plug some very good computer speakers into the headphone jack. I love the rich, full tone of Logitech Multimedia Speakers Z200 ($30 on Amazon).

2. Obviously, if you have a stereo system already in place, you can run the sound into it. If you do, a very important note:

Do NOT run the video and HDMI cables from your cable box, DVD player, Roku, etc. into the TV but then run all the audio cables into your stereo system. You'll notice a lag between the video and audio while people speak, which can be very irritating.

DO run ALL audio and ALL video cables into the TV itself. THEN, run a 1/8 inch mini-to-RCA (red/white) cord from the headphone jack directly to an input on your stereo. Bingo, audio and video will be in sync.

Bottom Line: Very happy for the price.

This TV's picture blew after 8 months of ownership. Element said they'd look at it but I'd have to ship it across the country at my cost $220, they wouldn't provide me with a shipping label. I chose to use that money and replace this piece of crap with a more dependable brand.

Verified Purchase
The TV I received shuts off randomly all the time. During a movie it will shut off at least 5 times. I was told it only had cosmetic damage. No cosmetic damage at all. Called the company and they coukd not fix it. I would not buy.

I bought this screen refurbished at my local Hastings, There are only three issues I have encountered; The power cable that the TV came with was terrible and caused it to turn off randomly, I have replaced the cable and it has had no no power related issues since. Secondly the screen overscans (cuts off edge of the image effectively zooming in) over HDMI and you can not disable the overscan. There was also one dead pixel on the screen (witch inst really noticeable until a dark scene is shown.
I use the screen mostly as a computer monitor via VGA since that input seems to be the only one that does not overscan. The image on this screen is great when using VGA as the input method and that is the only one that doesn't over scan; When HDMI is being used there is a considerable amount of interpolation due to the image not being native because of the overscan. The speakers in this TV are actually pretty good the sound better that the Samsung TV speakers at my place of work. The customer support from element is pretty bad none of the people working there had any idea how this screen worked. But overall this screen will look good if you use VGA.
