5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice lounge ambient sound, March 16, 2006

Always on the lookout for mellow lounge music for late evening work, I found this album while listening to other stuff on Amazon.com. It has just enough variation, jazz overtones, and beat to keep it interesting. I also bought Fire and am planning to get Air and Earth as well. This is good quality stuff, not like the music that is completely orchestrated on a electric keyboard.

I am a HUGE Chill fan and just happened to stumble upon this in Traverse City, Michigan. It is a beautiful mix and blend of mellow "beats" n Jazz.

If you are looking for a fun way to enjoy a laid back afternoon - this one is worth it. I am looking forward to getting some of the others.

Though this is not my favorite out of the four, it is like the others worth buying. I am totally addicted to these CDs! I suppose since they have covered all of the elements, this will be the last one? Perhaps they will try the planets next! I hope to hear more.

One of the entries in the Elemental Chill catalogue. Earth and Air are the standouts, with Water and Fire satisfactory, featuring more jazz and funk vibes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Liquid Lounge, October 31, 2007
This review is from: Elemental Chill 4: Water (Audio CD)
If you're a fan of chill compilations, regardless of your specific tastes, I can recommend this CD. It (and the other Elemental Chill volumes) are perhaps the best I have found of their kind.

This final installment -- the "Water" of our quartet -- melts jazzy velour with pellucidly psychadelic funk into one long, uninterrupted ocean wave of a song. The disc kicks off with the dulcet tones of The Funky Lowlives latin box-top number "Nota Bossa" and cascades from there into a sparkling wash of light ambience. There are a few dry patches (most notably "Eclipse," a cheesy lounge ditty that's heavy on the preservatives), but the bulk of this record is good, clean fun.

"L'Energie," by Mum? A lawn sprinkler casting up front yard rainbows. "Destinations," by Schmoov!? A lanky tributary through springtime woodlands. "Memphis Freeway," by S-Tone Inc.? A jazzy waterslide of a song that's as fun as a free-fall into the warm-n-cool ripples of the deep end.

And it all blends so well, together. Stirred with just the right speed, songs like the breath-moist "String Vibe" dissolve perfectly into earth-wet funk like "Bar Rumba." You'll find yourself kicking back, kicking your shoes off, kicking up splashes while you kick up your heels: this album may be water, but it's a tall glass with a kick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superior chillout set, January 4, 2003

I've only bought the "Water" volume in this series so far, but if it is any indication of the quality of the other volumes, then Elemental Chill is winner on all counts. Seamless blending of the tracks and the packaging is tres' cool.
