If grammar is elementary, vocabulary should be too., November 16, 2005
This review is from: Elementary Grammar Games (Spiral-bound)
The book is good in the sense that it contains great ideas of games to practice grammar structures. The main problem is that, when students are at elementary level they don't have a lot of vocabulary either, and in some of the games it is required they have it. For example, to practice "can / can't" students are expected to know words like "juggle", "somersault", "javelin", "tightrope", etc. If you have false beginners, or want to make a review of the structures with non-beginner students, this book might be more helpful, but if you are teaching true beginners, you might prefer to try another book (like "Grammar Games and Activities" by Peter Watcyn Jones from Penguin English).
