As an instructor, this is the only basic statistics book that I have found that the students actually used the book. The author does a good job of explaining the background of "why" we use particular procedures rather than focussing on only the "how". He also incorporates easy step by step outlines of each procedure. The book is well organized, includes a multitude of problems, and includes a data CD. Untill I write my own, I'll use this one.

Not that I think things should be dumbed down or anything, but this book was too complicated! It made simple things more difficult than they actually are. I never read this book and still got an A in Statistics. Instead of reading this, I just went over each problem once with a friend or tutor.

If this book is required, I guess you are stuck and have to get it, otherwise, don't buy it!

I can't believe people here didn't like this book. This book was a Godsend for me. I had a statistics teacher who spoke very poor English and didn't know how to explain things to students. I had to rely COMPLETELY on this book to learn - and I got an A!

This book was clear and simple, unlike every other math book I've had to use in high school and college. It describes things in terms even the worst math student should be able to understand.

This book looks great when you're browsing throught it in a bookstore, but when it is actually examined, it is unclear and non-directional. I don't recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn Statistics. The examples are extremely long and drawn out, I contiuously found myself asking the question: what?

Its okay. A bit redundant at times and I sometimes didn't like their definition of a formula, at least my teacher was able to teach! Didn't help that it took me re-ordering the book directly from Amazon, which put me 3 weeks behind in the text, don't order from any_book they will string you along till last receivable day and then say oops must have been lost.

The book was in good condition as advertised and included the CD. It did not however include the MyStatLab student access kit and should not have been listed as a combination.

It shipped ridiculously quickly (I ordered it Sunday and got it the next day, and I only chose 2-day shipping). Fantastic condition, excellent job!

The book had the cd and is perfectly usable. The edges were a bit more torn than I expected. Still good though
