Excellent Stat book for a beginner or a reviewer,
By Roofchops (Brooklyn) - See all my reviews
This review is from: MP: ELEMENTARY STATISTICS: A Brief Version with Interactive CD-ROM (Paperback)
I used this book last semester. I then sold it. Now, I want it back. I am taking a follow-up stat course, but this book is my bible. It really is a great addition to any stat study. Will be buying a new one.

I had a probability and statistics class and this book was somewhat helpful. I actually found that the teacher's instruction was more understandable than the book. But it wasn't completely unuseful. Itis good to have for class.

The book is very clearly written with good explanations and application to real world situations. I especially find the instructions about how to use the TI-83 and MS Excel very helpful. I will not be reselling this book; I intend to keep it as a reference book for some time to come.

Great Textbook,
This review is from: Elementary Statistics: A Step By Step Approach with MathZone and Smart CD (Hardcover)
I used this book for an online course and found it very easy to use. I had never taken a statistics class before and ended up with an A in the course and had little to no help from my professor. This book does an excellent job explaining concepts with clear examples and instructions on how to perform problems using Minitab, Excel, and a TI-83 calculator. I usually sell my textbooks back, but I just might hang on to this one.

Elementary Statistics: A Brief Version,

The book came in perfect conditions and good time. Although it was not much of an advantage to purchase it from Amazon versus the campus bookstore. It did not included the feature "Math Zone" that new books are supossed to have and the price after the purchase of Math Zone separately ended up higher than of the same new item purchased at the campus bookstore.

The book communicates the point clearly. It uses relevant examples to convey the author's intent and instruction. For those (like myself) that need a quick summary of the content they just learned, each topic has a color enhanced definition that gives a quick memory jog. Well written and easy to read.

Can't really say too much about it. It came in quickly and it was exactly what I needed. Book had a little wear on it but I had already expected that thanks to the vendors "book condition" information.

The seller's description of the book was precisely the way I received the book. I got the textbook, cd, and the online access card. The book was advertised as used but it was practically brand new-- just didn't have the plastic wrap. I was especially pleased with the price. I paid significantly less than some of my classmates paid for their used books from the bookstore.
