I ended up buying this book twice. The first time I bought it used from an Amazon reseller, but it did not have the StatLab access code. To buy just the access code is around $80, the used book was around $80. THe new book with the access code was $139. Most college books for online classes require access to a online resource, which is usually a one time code. Most resellers say they have the code (they probably don't), or they have it, but is has been used and is no longer valid. Save yourself the trouble, buy new from Amazon. It is still cheaper than the campus bookstore, or having to buy a stand alone access code. Good luck.

I rented this book thinking I was receiving the textbook and the mylab/mystatlab access code as stated in the description. When receiving this textbook the access code was not inside so I called the help desk thinking they had made a mistake, but even though stated in the title that there is an access code they told me that the rental books are done through a third party and not guaranteed to have access codes, CDs ect. in the books only the book is guaranteed. If they do not guaranteed the access code it should not be put in what is included in the package.

DO NOT RENT THIS BOOK IF YOU NEED THE ACCESS CODE!
The description of the item, "Elementary Statistics: Picturing the World plus MyMathLab/MyStatLab Student Access Code Card (5th Edition)" states the access card is included. THIS IS NOT SO! Customer service for Amazon states when you rent, it may or may not have the access code. This is fraudulent advertising! Amazon will not stand behind what they advertised and the only thing they will do is refund the rental.

I got the hardcover book and it comes with the MyStatLab Access Code. I was a bit confused because somebody wrote the access code would just come with the loose leaf edition, this is not true. Relieved! It also comes with the CD (in back of the book) and answers to odd numbers. Arrived right on time for fall quarter!
Edit: I used the code and it works great!

I purchased this product for my statistics class and its very usefull. There is actually a digital version of the book online that can be accessed with the code in the MyMathLab/MyStatLab booklet. the Booklet pretty much only contains the passkey and how to access the website.

As always, fast shipping from Amazon. However, the code does not work with the Pearson system. Such a waste of money. I do not blame Amazon, only the company that distributed the codes. If you look at other reviews regarding the different access codes, you will see I am not the only one who experienced problems. I came here to buy the book and code as a part of a good deal. Instead, I should have bought it from the campus bookstore or Pearson's website. Now I'm forced to buy another code for almost $100 from Pearson because all of the homework and quizzes are online.
