A good reference on clean programming style, April 21, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: C Elements of Style: The Programmer's Style Manual for Elegant C and C++ Programs (Paperback)
Ever read someone else's code and wondered what the heck they were doing? (Or had someone look at your own and wonder the same thing?) Then you should be reading this book, it covers all those questions you've been wanting to ask someone, but didn't.
The author is not just technically compentent, but is one of those rare programmers who can write as well.

I have used it as my style guide, in concert with with my own style notes, for several years. Sensible recommendations, easy to read, and some good insights to help write better code.

A Must-have, January 19, 2011
This review is from: C Elements of Style: The Programmer's Style Manual for Elegant C and C++ Programs (Paperback)
Every professional programmer should have a copy of this book. Good style improves reliability and is essential for long-term maintainability. I read this book when I started programming professionally (ages and ages ago), and still consider it the canonical reference.
