I think this is an excellent book for both the amateur and experienced person. The book is especially helpful in explaining how to organize and increase website traffic through the use of keywords. It also has helpful information on how to promote your website to search engines. If you want to read a book that will improve your website and you want your website to be found easily through search engines, then read this book!

As an amateur promoting my website this book caught my eye. Using several tips from the book I was able get my website ranked higher in search engines. This has increased traffic on my page and has given me many more sales and has helped me with my business.

My thoughts from a Promotion Aspect,

The book offers many good insights about promoting a website. However, Like the other review said, not being able to find the site by searching in a search engine is natual. As someone who has been into and doing web site promotion for almost 5 years 16 hours a day, There is much more involved with getting listed in a search engine than just submitting. There are also many other factors and media outlets that can generate more than enough traffic as well. I am still undecided on how I like the book. Even with my 4+ years of experiance. I can get my clients listed usually in the top 10 position but I can't write a book about it simply because what I know is just the tips and tricks that work for me. I would never claim to be an expert and even the most highest paid promotion guru's to me are not experts. Search engines are not like riding a bike, Just cause you learn it once, It won't be the same the next time. Unless the major search engines are sending you an email containing what is needed to get listed, Your going to have a rough time and no book is going to help. You have to learn it on your own like every other Url Submission Service on the web.

Honest Promotion Techniques,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Elements of
I was looking for a book that talked about how to promote my web site in an attempt to raise my rankings higher. (I will not mention my site here as to lower the credibility and real intent of my review.) As someone who has recently started a part time web consulting business, I have found this book to be of a great value. Though my web design program is great about telling me how to design my page, but it didn't tell me how to promote the sites I create. That is why I purchased this book. I like the author's recommendations of honest promotion techniques and avoiding the use of "Tricks" to manipulate how the engines index my site.

The book has a website given on page 13. Try to find the website using a search engine (Altavista for example). I tried the search using every word in the books title and wasn't able to find it in the first 20 pages listed in the search. If you buy a book on search engine placement, the proof should be evident in an actual search. Must I say more.
